Firstly, the good bits. The view from the room was fantastic. Sunrise every morning was stunning. Some of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Some were not. ||Now, the hotel is very dated and the furniture is very tired. The bed I had was uncomfortable and hard! The walls are wafer thin and every sound was heard!! There's a supermarket below the hotel which, should you need a few things, is a blessing. However, their loading bay was below our room, so each morning we were woken by the deliveries!!||The bathroom is not too bad, but the towels are very worn. They are hard and scratchy, and small!! Ours were not changed during our 4 day stay! ||Breakfast was unusual to say the least! Queue at the bar for your hot drink of choice, whilst having the choices of toppings for your tostada reeled off to you. You have to ask for anything other than cereal, so croissant, pan au chocolate, yoghurt, fruit etc needs to be asked for, rather than just a buffet to help yourself. It's also quite a small area to eat in, so maybe a bit of background music would be good. ||I am happy with basic accommodation, but I'm afraid this hotel is very, very basic. Unfortunately we wouldn't return to this hotel, although would return to...
Read moreThe hotel is situated on the main road overlooking the sea, above a well-equipped supermarket. The room had a large balcony, which overlooked the supermarket carpark, however, there was not a problem with traffic noise. The room had a very small televison, but no English channels, although this was not a problem for us. Although there was not a hairdryer, the reception did provide us with one. There wasn't any tea making facilities in the room, which would have been nice. The breakfast was slightly unusual in the way it was served. Although french sticks (for toasting) and croissants were laid out on the bar area, a member of staff asked what you required. There wasn't the option to help yourself. It almost felt like they were reluctant to serve you. The hotel is a short walk to the small shopping centre, where we caught the bus to the lovely Mojacar Pueblo. During our stay we also took the 40 minute, very pleasant, walk to...
Read moreWe stayed for two weeks at Hotel Mojacar Playa and although it is basic, it is very clean, the staff are friendly and speak reasonable English. Breakfast is a Continental affair including tea and coffee, which is fine to start the day, the Hotel is an excellent base for travelling around the Mojacar region with first class bus services to all major tourist areas including Mojacar Pueblo., Garrucha, Vera, Villaricos etc. There are plenty of good quality restaurants within walking distance although it has to be said that prices can be quite high depending on where you go.||My only criticism of the hotel would be that it does not have any tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, this would be a welcome addition. Would we stay there again? Definitely, excellent...
