Absolutely amazing restaurant to dine at, we kept coming back for more. Myself along with a group of 6 others dined here after part of the group sat in here previously and came back heavily recommending it.
We went for tea here and I had the braised octopus which was down on the menu as being a starter so I also added some chips on the side. The way the octopus was prepared, cooked and presented really pulled out all the stops. An absolute treat, not only for the mouth but eyes too. I'd recommend getting a side with the octopus if you too are ordering it as a main as it was a starter portion in my opinion.
Pina coladas (you can't not have at least one when you're on holiday) from here are great, not too strong and not too weak. Dessert was some sort of cake served with a blueberry sauce if I remember correctly. No complaints from me!
With the service being so fantastic our group booked breakfast for the next day (part of the group went on to book for the evening too). As with our evening meal, breakfast did not disappoint in the slightest, there was a variety of food throughout our table however the consensus was that it was all lovely. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast which came with a handful of chips and a small salad. Smoked salmon was very nice and went perfectly with the scrambled eggs. The chips portion was pretty spot on as I can't imagine anyone wants heaps of chips for their breakfast. Smoothies from Pura Vida are also refreshing and fresh, perfect for the midday heat or evening humidity.
Definitely worth a visit if...
Read moreHaving recently just spent two weeks in Mojacar on a 'working vacation' hubby and I found Pura Vida to be a perfect place to visit for mid-afternoon lunch, when it was time to put down our 'tools' and enjoy some nourishing food :)
The best thing about Pura Vida is the selection of fresh, healthy, nourishing food. That's what we needed and that's what they excel in!! A great place to refuel when hunger strikes :) Especially before hubby gets 'hangry' :(
In addition, the staff are the friendliest people in Mojacar. We had so much fun bantering back and forth with Esmeralda, Justina (a newbie!) and the amazing Kike who ensures all his customers are happy. With so many smiley faces and excellent service, it's a treat to sit back and enjoy the food after a hard morning's work!
A shout out to the staff in the kitchen....they know what they're doing :) Great food, good presentation & the freshest of ingredients. We are all about the quality of food.
As we savour our first cafe con leche of the day, overlooking the Mediterranean and enjoy the sun on our faces...does life get any better?
We highly recommend PURA VIDA any time of day (closed on Sundays). And be kind to Justina...she is still a newbie :D Sorry I don't...
Read moreWe've eaten here several times over the years and have always enjoyed the food. However, things seem to have changed and not for the better. We order a Mediterranean salad at €8.00, which was to include tuna, well it was there but only just, so a very expensive and basic salad. Also in the description was shavings of carrot, which on inspection, had seen better days, and me thinks it had also visited over plates, as seemed more like a garnish rather than something to eat, with lovely brown edges.
Now to mains, lovely looking steak (rib eye but very fatty) cooked, as asked and came with a very small oily potato and pepper accompaniment + oily small vegetable dish, so as you can imagine the combination of so much oily/fatty food was very unappealing and sickly. But never fear all that fat/oil was only €22.00 p/p. Total cost of the meal with salad, drinks for 2 people came to €80.00, and in any country that is a lot of money.
The wait staff however, were great as usual but this restaurant needs to rethink their prices, as we feel the meal did not reflect the cost and...
