Gala Placida Mojácar Playa — Hotel in Mojácar

I am basing this review solely on the fore mentioned room. The check in , all via coded messages through whatsapp was straight forward. No problems there, found the property easily enough as its above Cabo Norte restaurant. The room itself is a little tired, it wasn't very clean ( ample dust everywhere ) the bathroom was a decent size with full bath. The water had to be run for at least a couple of minutes to get hot water through. The bed itself was a cheap frame but a decent mattresss, one slight movement and the bed creaked!! There was a fridge, ideal to store drinks but there was no kettle to make tea or coffee. The wifi was intermittent. With the rooms being on top of the restaurant there was a loud roaring noise every now and again, I put that down to being the extractor fan from the kitchen area. With all this apart the best part of our stay in this room was a large outdoor patio area. It was south west facing, about 12sq metres in size and was a sun trap!! Based on all the pros and cons. Would have been very good value if the beds and pillows had been better quality. Location was good but parking will be difficult in the summer. The hot water took forever to come through which meant such a huge waste of water. The glass shower door leaked so badly that the bathroom flooded if you didn’t put several towels down. The card in the door made such a loud buzzing noise that we had to take it out which me the room had no power to charge phones etc overnight. Stayed here for a second time. First experience was very good but this visit was disappointing. The property could not promise a double as requested so I had a twin room. The aircon unit was faulty and did not work. The room provides a coffee maker and a kettle. The coffee machine was broken and there was no point using the kettle as there was no coffee sachets or milk. On day one there was no hot water and the second day just warm enough for a quick shower.
