Recently stayed here in a large group after completing our Camino. The location is fantastic right on the beach and in a quiet area but within a few minutes walk of the restaurants and supermarket etc, I don't like to give a 1 star to any accommodation I've stayed in but I can't give a half star....nor do I normally give a bad review unless I feel it's necessary to advise people what they are in for....,so on this occasion I genuinely felt I needed to leave a real honest review on this hotel, and I hope they learn from it. The hotel itself for me was fine,it was basic but clean, the receptionist who doubled as the barista and a waitress later that nite was lovely! I cannot fault her she was helpful and friendly. The walls are paper thin in the rooms, the bathroom was newly decorated an lovely but water pressure wasn't good. My biggest issue was with the man who was the owner I felt or perhaps manager..... He was downright rude! Unhelpful and unfriendly. He made our whole party feel unwelcome and an inconvenience!. Online the checkout stated 12 midday but we were advised to leave by 11am. We were told no noise after 10pm and even though we'd been given a passcode to enter after this time the manager loitered outside until one of our party came back inside only to be told they must be quiet and would be watch on CCTV!.....it's such a shame because this could have been a much different experience.....if you just want a room for the night and you don't want anything remotely comfortable, welcoming or fancy this...
Read moreThis hotel is right across from the sea, so I walked in to see if they have a room available (I checked online first and it had one of the best prices in town). The lovely woman at reception helped me check in, gave me an ocean view. The room was spacious with two windows facing the ocean. It also has a small bathtub.
This is a really nice town, with a very sacred church and the stones associated with the Virgin Mary. I extended my trip for an extra night. The gentleman gave me the same price even though it was a Saturday. They both helped me figure out my bus to Santiago. Very friendly, family run hotel.
I had breakfast here as well, fresh OJ, croissants, eggs, coffee, etc. all with an ocean view.
The bonus was seeing pilgrims trickle into town each day. I can't recommend this...
Read moreAt the end of our Camino we wanted to relax for a few days in Muxia so stayed two nights in the centre and then two nights at La Cruz. This hotel is a couple of blocks away from the busy area, but still with fantastic views of the harbour. La Cruz was so much more peaceful & quiet that we were very happy that we moved hotels. The room on the third floor had a wonderful ocean view, was a good size, modern and nicely decorated, with a nice big bathroom and good shower. Breakfast was simple but one of the best we had on the Camino - the bread they use is organic and delicious! It’s not included but is reasonably priced. Staff in the restaurant are friendly and manage enough english that we could communicate. We would definitely recommend a stay at this nice, medium...
