to save any confusion, real agua amarga have two complexes.||1) real agua amarga la joya.......a property inland, a couple of miles from the village.||2 ) real agua amarga las villas.......a small complex of villas, in the village, right on the beach.||i am only saying this as i was confused also, and a review on booking.com helped me understand the difference.||so this is a review for the villas on the beach.||on a driving trip through portugal and spain, my wife and i were due to stay 2 days in granada. however the weather was in the mid 30's and we didn't fancy a city in those temperatures. i cancelled the hotel and did an internet search. i stumbled upon the website for these villas and made a booking. a bit expensive, but i chose the best villa they had as a treat for my wife.||on the website i think it said check in was from 4pm. but we got a phone call at around 11am saying our villa was available. unfortunately we were several hours drive away, but it was nice customer service to get the phone call.||Anyway, on arriving at the property we met alberto who proceeded to show us around the villa. wow.....this place was amazing. very, very large villa arranged over three floors. two private terraces and also a roof terrace.||the villa was so large that even after two days we kept getting lost in it.||very clean, almost new feeling. very high quality fixtures and fittings. comfortable furniture.||very nice pool and also good quality pool loungers.||private walkway down to the beach.||very honest staff. when we checked in i told alberto that we didn't need the villa cleaning each day as our stay was so short. thinking nobody would be coming into the villa, i left money, a wallet and various electrical tablets lying around. we came back from a drive to find the bed had been made, and nothing had been taken.||highly recommend the villa, and also the beautiful little town of agua amarga......in fact i shouldn't be telling you this as i want to keep it quiet and undiscovered. so i also shouldn't say check out the great little walk over the hill behind the house, which takes you to an amazing private cove called Cala...
Read moreRecently had a week in "Real The Villas" and everything was exceptional.Only two of us stayed here so the other rooms were cordoned off, but we did have a lot of space, but even if 4 or 6 stayed here you would not be uncomfortable. The Villa had everything you need (except a kettle if you are English) but that was not a problem. ||||Agua Amarga is a beautful little village with all the activity centered around the Bar Plaza square. It is authentically Spanish, no English pubs to be seen! The small village has a number of good restaurants on or off the beach, and a small number of boutique type shops. There is a small supermarket which has most daily things, but the supermarket in Carbonares 6km away has everything you need.||||The sandy beach is great all day long, and a mile or two either side are a couple of great beaches too, one is walkable over the cliffs, the other towards Carbonares you'd need a car or cab.||||We visited the first week of June and the holiday season hadn't really kicked in, so it was really peaceful and unspoilt, July and August I guess would be busier but that shouldn't put you off.||||I would recommend the immaculate villa and cracking location to anybody who wanted a quiet...
Read moreWe have stayed at a few different hotels in Agua Amarga and, this time, decided to book one of Las Villas (now owned by the Real Agua Amarga group) as we prefer to stay within the town - rather than at one of the boutique hotels in the countryside.||||Las Villas are perched at the top of town so afford a great view down the bay and across the town (they are opposite El Tio Kiko and above Hotel Las Calas across the riverbed). There are 7 around a heated swimming pool - 4 standard, 2 superior and 1 deluxe.||||They are large 200m villas with private parking, 3 bedrooms and quite luxurious fittings for selfcatering - although they could do with a little TLC here and there (in comparison to the stunning of the accommodation and dining at the hotel). The price is dependent on the number of guests (i.e. the number if bedrooms in use).||||We enjoyed our stay - and would book again although would try a superior villa next time (we stayed in...
