Hotel Eco Life — Hotel in San Miguel de Abona

In the wide variety of hotels on the island of Tenerife, hotel Eco Life is one of the nicest ones. Because of the location, 15 minutes from the beach, 12 minutes from the airport but far enough and high enough on the mountains, altitude of 600 meters, to give you a very quiet and peaceful stay, away from the noise of the way to crowded south west of Tenerife.

Our hotel room had an excellent bed, room was big enough, we had the normal room, normal and functional bathroom and the hotel offers an amazing fresh, biological, local, healthy and tasty breakfast. Not in the least because of the amazing Earth restaurant which is also in the hotel Eco Life. The owners themselves selfs are on a daily basis present in the hotel. The run it with enthousiasme, spirit and keep it clean and tidy. both the hotel and the restaurant.

Our personal favorite was the young lady who served the breakfast 6 days a week. But all the staff was dedicated to serving the guests and made sure the hotel guest have the best possible time.

Regarding the number one function of a hotel, peaceful nights to rest and recharge, this hotel is top choice!

I debated on writing a bad review for this small local business, but I believe it's important to share my experience as both a learning opportunity and a fair reflection for future guests. Unfortunately, my stay was disappointing. It’s time for the hotel to reinvest in their building. Here are the main issues we encountered:

Non-existing WiFi made it difficult to stay connected. The hot water issue was particularly concerning; the water barely hot enough and I was freezing for most of it. We found a half-used soap bottle in the bathroom, which felt unprofessional. There was no heating or air conditioning. The rooms were super damp, and it felt horrendous. We had to sleep fully clothed to avoid feeling uncomfortable with the damp bedding. The towels were all damp as well, which was really off-putting. Lastly, the website description was completely misleading regarding the attention to detail and luxury feel of the hotel.

Though this is quite far from the city proper(about 25 min drive), we liked the location a lot. Since this is up in the mountains, the weather here is cpld unlike in the city where it was so hot. The hotel itself is so quaint as well as its surroundings. Everything is very Spanish like. Nothing special about the service but it was not bad. No aircon but you wont need it anyways. Bring your own toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, soap for they only supply a packet of shampoo and tiny bar of soap. One great thing is they have a strong wifi signal and there are wall outlets for your gadgets all over the room. I was not a fan of their breakfast spread but that is subjective to ones taste. Though it is far, transportation is not a problem. You can just call & order a cab and they come right away. I find it safe while we were here. There"s...
