We stayed at this hotel during its opening and were honestly really excited about it. Unfortunately, what we experienced was far from a 5-star stay. The whole place felt more like a construction site than a luxury hotel.
We expected a few hiccups since the hotel just opened, but this was on a whole other level – there were issues everywhere.
When we arrived, we learned that the hotel’s parking garage was still under construction – and we had received no prior notice. Since there’s barely any public parking around, we ended up having to park a few streets away and lug all our bags to the hotel. Definitely not the welcome we expected.
Check-in was chaotic. The lobby was crowded, the staff looked overwhelmed. You’d think for a opening, at the very least, the rooms would be ready for the first guests – but that just wasn’t the case.
We finally got our keys at 4:00 PM, but the staff just handed them over without saying a word: No idea where our room was No info about breakfast or where to find it No clue which parts of the hotel were actually open No offer to help with our luggage
It was a disorganized experience that lacked even basic hospitality.
The hallways and staircases looked more like parking garages – grey, dusty, and cluttered with tools and trash bags. Even inside our room, walking barefoot left our feet covered in construction dust.
We booked a “City & Mountain View” room, but instead, we got a front-row seat to the hotel’s own construction site – complete with bulldozers and workers right outside, all day long. Since our room was on the first floor, the workers were literally eye-level with our balcony, so there was zero privacy. We ended up keeping the curtains closed the whole time.
The room itself was freezing cold, made entirely of exposed concrete, not insulated, and filled with a dusty construction smell. We were literally freezing inside our room.
The room did not match the photos on the website. It felt bare and unfinished, like furniture and decoration were missing.
We understand the hotel is going for a modern, industrial look – and that’s fine if it’s done well. But even industrial design should feel clean, stylish, and finished – especially at a five-star hotel.
The build quality was shockingly poor: The baseboards were badly fitted There was paint splattered on the walls and ceiling Construction markings still visible on walls Minibar fridge didn’t work TV had no functioning channels Walls were paper thin – we heard everything from neighboring rooms and the hallways big gap under our door that the wind literally whistled right through it
It honestly looked like the room had never been properly cleaned or inspected before we checked in. Completely unprofessional.
After we complained, the staff offered us a different room for the second night – but at that point, it wouldn’t have made much of a difference. The real issue was that the whole hotel was simply not ready for guests. And since we were checking out the next morning, the offer didn’t really help us anyway.
These are basic expectations, even for a budget hotel.
The rooftop area, spa, gym and more were all still under construction and closed.
To be fair, the pool was beautiful. It was the only part of the hotel that met expectations. But a nice pool does not make up for an unfinished building, and a lack of cleanliness.
The pool bathrooms had no soap or paper towels, and construction workers were still operating.
We were honestly relieved that we had only booked two nights here. I can’t imagine having to stay any longer under these conditions.
Despite all of these issues, we were not offered any meaningful compensation or even a proper apology. That is simply unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be five-star.
This hotel was absolutely not ready to host paying guests, and marketing it as a 5-star experience is completely misleading. This was one of the worst hotel experiences...
Read moreThought I’d add my two cents (and 500 euros) to the reviews for this hotel, since opinions seem more divided than a Love Island villa.
I arrived with an open mind, fully aware that this hotel has had a bit of a bumpy launch.
Check-in was relatively smooth, although they did hit me with a surprise 500 euro security deposit. That’s right—500 euros! For a room I’d already paid for.
The entrance is open-air (but covered), leading straight to the pool area which features two pools and a DJ playing most days. The music wasn’t too intrusive—just loud enough to let you know you're in Ibiza, but not so loud that you can’t hear yourself think. The vibe around the pool is peak "Ibiza-chic" meets influencer audition tape—a bit pretentious, but entertaining if you like people-watching. There are just about enough sunbeds (ranging from "Instagrammable" to "wobbly") to go around.
Now, the pool bar serves drinks and food, but brace yourself: €15 for a beer. Yep, fifteen. At that price, I assumed the hops were handpicked by monks on a mountaintop. The bar sits next to a shaded outdoor restaurant where breakfast was surprisingly good.
So far, so tolerable. And then… the rooms. Oh boy.
They’ve gone for a “raw industrial concrete” aesthetic, which I think is code for “we ran out of budget halfway through construction.” The layout is a design mystery—the sink is in one corner, the mirror in another, and good luck using both at the same time unless you’ve got a periscope.
The shower is walk in shower and when I say walk in shower I mean you walk into the hotel room and walk virtually straight into the shower - there is zero privacy so make sure you’re on good terms with your room buddy as you’re going to know them pretty well after staying at this hotel.
Storage? Minimal. Suitcase space? Try the floor. Ambiance? Somewhere between an art installation and a building site.
Other highlights include: Fridge: not working. Door: doesn’t quite close right. Toilet roll holder: actively trying to escape the wall. Honestly, I’ve had more polished rooms at a Travelodge, and they didn’t ask for a small fortune to hold my toothbrush.
That said, credit where it’s due: The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly throughout. The place was clean, both the room and public areas. And for Ibiza, the weekly price wasn’t outrageous.
Final verdict? If you're expecting a 5-star resort, you’re in for a mild existential crisis. Think somewhere between a solid 3 and a generous 4 stars—with a splash of DJ and a spritz...

My partner and I recently stayed at Bonito Ibiza and wanted to share some honest feedback based on our experience.
🌟 Highlights Concierge & Front-of-House: William, the concierge team, and the breakfast/restaurant manager (a very kind gentleman from Madrid) were true professionals — attentive, proactive, and genuinely welcoming. They offered excellent local recommendations and were the highlight of our stay.
Design & Ambience: Beautiful architecture, stylish room décor, and a very "Ibiza" vibe. The pool area is especially photogenic and well thought out.
⚠️ Areas for improvement Breakfast Buffet: Overcrowded, poorly presented, lacking cleanliness and atmosphere. Coffee quality was far below expectations.
Housekeeping: Concrete floors were dusty and clearly not cleaned daily. Towels and bedding were refreshed only in the evening (~7 p.m.), which is too late.
Bed Configuration: Our “double” bed was actually two singles pushed together — they kept separating during the night. At this price point, a real double bed or prior notice would be expected.
Curtains: The blackout curtains did not fully block morning light, making it difficult to sleep past sunrise.
Facilities: Only one men’s restroom for the entire pool/restaurant area — inadequate for a hotel of this size and category.
Staff: Overall, the staff felt very young and often inexperienced, especially noticeable during breakfast service and general guest interactions.
Guest Conduct: Several guests displayed inappropriate, sexualized behavior around the pool (posing for explicit photo shoots on sunbeds), which was uncomfortable — especially for families. This affected the overall atmosphere and felt far from what a 5-star experience should be.
Bar: No real evening bar or lounge space. Only the pool bar is available, which closes early and does not offer a proper place to enjoy a relaxed evening drink.
While we were grateful for the outstanding service from a few key team members, the overall experience did not match the expectations set by Bonito Ibiza’s 5-star branding. The hotel clearly has potential, but more structure, staff training, and guest management are needed to deliver a premium stay.
We hope this review is helpful to future travelers and to the management team as they continue to...
