First off, the decor and aesthetic are really nice. Great place for photo opportunities and if anything this is where the catfishing begins.
I found this place via Instagram which portrayed great food, a lively atmosphere and all round bang for your buck.
Despite the look of the place, the atmosphere was bizarre. Full of people who almost seemed like actors, sitting around not eating or drinking or even talking to one another for that matter.
With regards to the food, my fiancée and I opted for the premium taster menu. We only discovered upon ordering that, regardless of the fact that the food quantities didn't change from 1 to 2 people, we had to pay €85 EACH.
We made a small request to change the single dessert course to something else as we didn't like the one option they had to which we were given a flat no.
The food came out pretty quickly which I praise them for as we were not waiting for long between courses. The food itself was just odd. Satay Chicken that was dry and barely tasted of peanut despite being full of them. Chilli Lime chicken tasted unseasoned. Crispy chilli beef was the most heart breaking as it tasted of pure soy sauce and was as crispy as a slug in the rain. Chi-Kee rice was decent to be fair, as was the spring rolls. Duck pancakes were essentially a deconstructed Tesco meal deal wrap.
We didn't finish the main courses due to them being massively unenjoyable and, as a result of the staff's refusal of our request, we did not have a dessert course. The waitress then had the cheek to include a 10% service charge to our meal ramping the cost up to €200+
When I asked for this to be removed I was met with slight hostility and was demanded to say why to which I stated that we did not get/eat the qty of food we had been robbed for and the waitress had been less than helpful in offering any sort of olive branch.
If you have silly money to burn, maybe go just for the aesthetic but if you like decent food and are wanting somewhere that doesn't feel like a very pretty liminal space - Burger King is literally like...
Read morePffffft…… not sure where to even start, this is by far the easiest review I have ever left as this place is SENSATIONAL. I called to reserve a table and the lady on the phone couldn’t have been more helpful, we arrived at 8pm and was shown to our table where we then met our server, this is where the game really changed, his name was ‘SMILES’ and trust me this guy knows his stuff. We ordered a couple of starters to share, he talked us through the extensive wine list before we chose a beautiful Spanish red Rioja, we finished our starters and Smiles came back with menus, we selected 3 mains to share and smiles responds by saying ‘No problem, great choice, do you mind if I bring these dishes out in stages for you so that they are fresh and hot when you eat them’ 🤷🏼♂️ we responded by saying, ‘smiles our friend we are in your hands’ Our lobster bao buns arrived first and they just melted in our mouths UNBELIEVABLE! We then moved on to our crispy duck which was the more filling dish as it was for 2-4 people before finishing with the WAGYU steak which could on be described as PHENOMENAL, flavour and texture to die for! We had decided to treat ourselves to a second bottle of wine which was then opened for us and left to breathe whilst we continued to eat like Kings & Queens. To finish the night when then sat and relaxed on the chill out sofas in front of the bar with a caramel cheesecake shisha.
We spent 4 hours in this place and didn’t once feel rushed, in fact it was quiet the opposite we felt incredibly welcomed and relaxed and enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. 100% in the top 3 of anywhere I have eaten in the world!
Thank you so much for great food, amazing service and one of the best...
Read moreI dined here yesterday with my husband, and I must say it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed and uncomfortable. The waitress came over within two minutes, practically begging us to place our order. It was shocking to be pressured so soon after being seated. You can literally see her standing in the picture body guarding our table. After we ordered, we began eating and having a conversation when the waitress interrupted us again, insisting that we could have our food boxed up to go. This happened just two minutes later, and it felt incredibly disrespectful. It was clear that we were being treated differently than other patrons who were allowed to enjoy their meals without interruption. As the only black couple in the restaurant, I couldn't shake the feeling of being discriminated against. The waitress persisted in trying to get us to leave, even though we were not finished eating. To make matters worse, the food itself was cold and lacked flavor, making it even harder to enjoy the experience. Ultimately, we decided to leave all our food behind and walk out. I would not recommend here based on this experience, as it felt unwelcoming and...
