The Santara Resort was welcoming as we got there late at night, there was a guard to greet us and show us to our bungalow which was brilliant but the downfall was that the guard spoke No English it was very difficult to communicate with him but he was a lovely guy. |We hit the ground running the next day in the morning when reception was open. The people at reception were very nice and they all spoke English. We was told that we had to leave our debit card details in case of any breakages.|The complex was spacious with a lovely pool which was ideal for my child. We did some food shopping in a shop that was on the resort which was handy. |We decided to go and have breakfast one morning in the resort and regretted it! The staff didn't speak English but they were able to get a translater which was great but the breakfast buffet was a disaster! Not much to choose from and very budgeted. We decided that we would have our meals in our bungalow and then go out for dinner. There is a restaurant called Tuttis where we ate majority of the time, very friendly and their customer service was exceptional!|The resort had a spa and gym building aswel as a dinning building and the staff at the spa were great! |The reception staff would go out of their way to assist you (like booking theme parks and so on) which was nice but the actual bungalow itself wasnt great. The bottom of the shower leaked when ever you took a shower even after bringing it to the reception staffs attention. There was no WiFi in our room at all! There were loads of ants and flies a couple days in to our trip in the kitchen section which was very irritating and the phone didn't work, so we had to walk to reception to speak to them. On the other hand the washing machine came in very handy.||I think if the stuff mentioned above was fixed it would earn an extra star.||Thank you for your...
Read moreWe had a lovely week staying at Santara Resort. Most of the accommodation is bungalows with a few apartments on the complex - a few are owner occupied. All the actual residential area is securely gated with card access. The site is really clean, well laid out and maintained. In the kitchen the bungalow had a fridge/freezer, oven and hob and a washing machine - all very useful, especially if self-catering. Items could be loaned from reception but we took kettle, iron and hairdryer. The bungalow was spacious with plenty of storage space, especially in the bedroom. The bathroom was a 'wet room' with just a low shower. Wi-fi was free and the TV had a few English channels.||||It was quiet during our stay but it was 'out of season'. The outdoor pool was closed for the winter but the Spa had an indoor swimming pool. It cost €40 for a week's membership and was money well spent as it gave access to the indoor pool, the Spa and to fitness classes.||||We had a car and paid to use the underground parking although parking is available on the roads. There is a small, well-stocked supermarket, a restaurant and hairdressers on the complex. The bus stop is just outside. During our stay, Reception closed at 6.00 pm and we arrived at 10.00 pm. There is a notice on the door with a number to phone and the security guard does the reception for you.||||The staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. Overall good value for money. ||||Santara Resort is in Gran Alacant, a large area of Urbanizations, all residential, but with a good infrastructure. At the junction with the N332 is the large Gran Alacant Centro Commercial which has three large supermarkets, plus a good range of shops and restaurants.||||If you have a car or like a long walk, do take the coastal road - the Camino del Cabo - to Santa Pola for a change of scene rather than just using...

The WiFi is NOT working in your bungalow. Only in the restaurant. So: no Digital TV (only analog Spanish network), no e-mail or computerconnection during your stay in your bungalow. It's "for free".... Right....
You have to arrange, pay and settle your own Wifi! The prices are way to high. And ....after the renovation (it takes them about 2 years..) they will rise the rent even more (PLUS 70%!!!). There is actually no 24/7 help when you need them. For some help during the night you have to wait till office hours! You have to pay a deposit immediately up-front, but it takes them 2 weeks to pay it back when you leave. Even when everything is left perfectly and clean behind. The renovationplans for the 180 bungalows are changing every week so the present guests do not know where they are going to be moved to during the renovation. The communication with the guests is not sufficient enough. The older people are afraid of the future in this resort. The local management has no say in anything whatsoever . It is all decided by and is up to.... the headoffice in........Madrid
The personell is very nice and helpfull, but can't do a thing. They are afraid of their jobs
It's Fawlty Towers all...
