I was scared by the bad comments but I booked this place as my kid enjoyed their flamenco show last year and wanted to return.
I have been positively surprised and we spent a nice evening in nearly all aspects.
We booked the dinner+show at 39EUR. The price seemed initially very high for Spain but I believe the price to be fair. If you compare with the Drink + Show option at 20EUR, averaging a drink around 5 EUR, (drinks prices range from 3.50EUR to 7EUR), this means you account 15EUR for the show (acceptable) and let 24EUR the cost of the meal, fair.
The food was ok and tasty (I'm a picky french gourmet), yes the menu is simple with nothing fancy, but food is decent from starters to deserts and everything seems homemade. Our party had 4 different main courses and all meats were very tender (pork secreto, pork cheek, chicken, pork ribs) the Chicken and pork ribs were slow low temp cooked, suggesting sous vide cooking or steam oven before a bbq finish.
We had the house white wine at a decent price of 13EUR the bottle, 3.50 a glass. It's not a Puligny Montrachet 2005 but it's largely drinkable.
Service was efficient, they could be warmer but in the end they do their job. The waitress from the rooftop seemed more joyful.
I'm not a specialist but the flamenco show was very nice with dedicated and passionate artists, and dramatic songs and spirit.
So as said, my family and I spent a nice evening and we would certainly...
Read morePreviously loved this place. But now it's not as good. Don't expect service with a smile. Burgers OK. Meal with Flamenco show not great but show OK. Even if you're in a bad mood (as I was) and don't understand much Spanish, you can get into it because they clearly enjoy what they do. Bring wipes to clean cans if your kids order coca cola, cos they were dirty. We've had some great times in the past here, but don't think we'll be back. Things change, unfortunately. Think we'll consign this place to...
Read moreThere is no other Restaurant quite like Los Lunares in Gran Alacant. Located up the hill it gives panoramic views across Alicante Bay. The interior and roof terrace are beautifully decorated in a Spainish theme with lots of lovely artwork and decorations. We both enjoy the Tapas and main meals which are delicious with good portions. The menu plus drinks are very reasonably priced. Paco and his staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful which helps create a...
