I arrived here to stay for a week, paid in cash as the staff at the desk accepted it and it wasnt until they handed me back the money in euros that I realised the front desk staff had absolutely no clue as to what they were doing. I had been awake at this point for nearly 18 hours after a long flight and needed rest. I had assumed the balance would be settled upon checkout.
When I arrived back to the hotel the staff had left a message under the door for me to contact them. I then found multiple issues with my room which were An extreme lack of cleanliness, dust and dead bugs covering the surfaces and under the bed Window wouldn't shut properly at all allowing mosquitoes into my room The shower was leaking.
The staff obviously hadn't checked my room quite thoroughly enough before handing over the keys, also it is worth mentioning that the saunas in this place look prehistoric and do not work... Something that wasn't made clear upon booking this 5 star hotel with 'spa'
The management then made me out to be a criminal as if I had purposefully not paid, but it was their own mistake that they gave me the money back. I then offered to pay using sterling as it was the original payment method to which they said they didn't accept foreign currency, blatantly contradicting what they had said the day before. I spoke with a manager named Ana Vallejo Alonso, who instructed me that 'she trusted me' to make the payment the following day, something which is still quite funny as I haven't ever been to a hotel where they assess their guests basically on appearance and award 'trust' to someone who already tried to pay you.
The following day I arrived at the front desk to speak with Ana, only to be told she wasn't there. Not wishing to waste anymore time on this saga I left the desk, the same manager whom had made the payment error (thin male) was present and without offering any explanation for his mistake nor an apology continued to demand money this time from my wife. This left me in a very feeling more like a criminal and more so angry that this man had no balls to apologise nor offer an explanation but the main issue was that Ana Vallejo Alonso failed to communicate to this man that the situation was under her and he need not make and demands to us.
In the end I was offered little or no explanation, just a desk of staff all speaking to me with different stories and policies which they seemed to make up as they went along.
We chose not to have the breakfast here after seeing a dead cockroach in the buffet area.
The roof above the front desk leaks when it rains... No warning signs were put out to indicate that the floor was wet and is it very slippery as it is tiled.
Don't stay here unless you want to be treated like a criminal and live in substandard conditions. It says 5 star but really it isn't. 1 star and never staying at this hell hole again.
I have to add that the management flagged this review, tried to take it down and as Mercedes punto has replied I too have a response.. I never refused to pay! Youre staff made a mistake! Get that through your thick heads!!! You've...
Read moreThe hotel was easy to find when leaving the highway. Just follow their hotel signs. I would have rated 5 but their are some points to go over like the long line at the reception desk. We stayed 2 nights. The first day at the reception we waited at least 1/2 'til it was our turn to check in. Only two people were on duty. One can see that there were at least 4-5 computers behind the counter which my opinion 'should' have been occupied to check in their guests. And also to mention that on the next morning as we were leaving to go to the Isla Magica Park...again such long waiting lines and i waited on the check in line 15 minutes just to ask a question. 🫤 In such a 5 star hotel...it shouldn't be. ||My second disappointed was that the service train to the park only from (i think to remember) 11:00 and runs 'til 13-13:30. Starts again 20:00 (8pm). If you leave the park when the train after 13:30 is not available then those 10+ minutes walking in that HEAT to the hotel is BRUTAL. That service should be available from the time the park opens 'til the end. Those afternoon hours to walk with little kids is too much...again in that heat after an exhausting park tour. And, one can emply another maybe 'unemployed' person to fill that gap. 🤷🏻♀️ The second morning the train started about 15 minutes later. At the reception counter we asked about it and i must say they were a bit rude answering. The person whom helped to answer was the door 'bus boy'. ||In addition, we had rooms on the fourth floor. The daughters room was next to ours. Stepping out of the elevator ..turning right..i think number 1418. Anyway, it wasn't very pretty to have your door (for this hotel especially) with a big chunk of wood from the door missing. Looked UGLY. Cosmetic Maintenance is a must! Maintenance team should go around checking. Some amenities also missing. Shower cap...box of tissues would be good to have for the guests. ||The personnel in the lounge restaurant...top! Good food..good price and tasted very good. Gazpacho, thai noodle (can't remember the rest)..all very good. ||All in all tho'..i would recommend it. The rooms were roomy and the beds were comfortable. Location too. |P.S awesome breakfast offer. Breakfast room. ...
Read moreLast year was our first visit to this hotel and we loved it from start to finish. ||This year we decided to do two nights, on arrival day we checked in and got our tickets for Isla Mágica for both the theme and water park, there is a special bus that drops you down between 11-1 and collects from 8:30-11:30. There is a special entrance for hotel guests where you get to skip the whole queue which was incredible as this particular day the queue was all the way down to the car park. ||We stayed in building 2 this year which is where the reception and restaurants were. Our air conditioning worked like a dream this year and it was handy to be in this part of the hotel. ||We went for dinner both nights in the hotel as it was so handy to do so, the waiting staff are very attentive and give 5 star service my criticism would be that the menu is not varied enough, we felt there wasn’t a good choice of starters etc or starters that were there were overpriced for what they were. My final criticism would be the way the in which the food is cooked, we got ribeye and asked for medium to well done so normally in Spain this is pink we got red raw meat. My daughter got a burger and asked what way we would like it cooked and my home economics teacher always said there is only one way to cook burgers and that’s well done, that came out pink. I got salmon, and it was raw in the centre, the matter was dealt with there and then but there was issues. ||The swimming pool last year was a highlight for us, we popped down the next afternoon, to discover there was no longer changing facilities, lockers or showers so it meant that on departure day we wouldn’t be able to use the facilities comfortably . We also noticed that there was a dress code around the hotel for guests to be appropriately dressed which I fully agree with but they carry this onto the pool restaurant which was a little odd we felt considering where we were.||We enjoyed our stay in this hotel for a 2nd year in a row but not sure we would do a 2nd night in the future on account of the lack of...
