We typically don't stay in such simple hotels, but this this simple spot knocked it out of the park. We were there for 2 nights and the gentleman at the front desk just couldn't do enough for us: first, he went several blocks with us to secure a safe place to park our car. Then, he walked me to a manicurist several blocks away.||||The hotel is simple, but has an up-market feel with newly redecorated rooms. Breakfast is SUPERB with high quality ingredients including freshly squeezed juice, terrific selection of exotic fresh fruits, gorgeous pastries that are picked up by the same man every day at a local bakery.||||All considered, this place is a steal.||||BTW: Google maps sent us to the street Convento rather than the hotel, in spite of putting in the hotel several times. The hotel is located on the town's main street, exactly one block from the historical gate to the old town (the main street actually dead-ends into the gate. Find the gate and the hotel will be right there on the street that ends...
Read moreAs I live in Marbella I frequently visit Tariffa and stay and one of the many beach front hotels. ||This trip I wanted to be in the town centre and stayed at the Hotel CONVENTO and an excellent choice it was too!! ||Originally an old convent the hotel has been well restored and all rooms are very modern and clean. ||To be honest they are rather small so I would recommend upgrading to one of their small suites and in August this was only an extra 20€ a night.|| The hotel is in the centre of Tariffa and everywhere is under 10 minutes walk away. This is a very personable hotel and the owner himself walked us to the garage just 3 minutes from the hotel. ||For those who want to be in the middle of the historic places, restaurants and very lively night scene this is the place to stay. ||It could easily be a base for a short visit to Tangier as the ferry port is under an 10...
Read moreVery good location for visiting both Tarifa old town and for a day trip to Tangier. Hotel is an attractive old convent building. We selected the hotel due to the above and some good reviews. We found the rooms were adequate and the hotel has a charming ambiance.||BUT - in our opinion it is very overpriced for a hotel graded as one star: 150 euros per room per night irrespective of room occupancy, Breakfast extra: 15 euros. Parking also extra in a cramped garage that requires multiple maneuvering to park/ext. Told the manager of some defects in one of our rooms (defective shower). He straight away became abusive and threatened to call the police!!! We couldn't wait to leave and strongly recommend that Tripadvisor readers avoid this hotel while under the present management. So disappointing, as the rest of our visit to Tarifa and Tangier...
