I almost didn’t want to write this review because I love La Favela so much, I'm worried I won’t be able to get a table once the word gets out! But it's just too good to keep secret—they deserve all the praise.
Honestly, I've been to many Michelin-starred places and always thought the whole froth thing was a bit of a gimmick. But then I tried the lemon froth on the Merluza at La Favela, and I'm converted. It’s incredible—like how you can't have calamari without lemon, this is a combo that just has to be.
Beyond the food, the vibe inside is authentically cool. The interior feels genuine and unpretentious, and there's some really interesting art to check out. From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel welcome—they greet you right at the door, explain the menu with enthusiasm, and really make you feel special. Plus, there's an open grill where you can watch the chefs at work while you wait for your table!
Really, the only thing I'm asking for is, please bring back the other croquetas!
Overall, La Favela is one of the best dining experiences I've had. Thanks for consistently making my visits memorable. Here’s to hoping I can still snag a table after this review!
Edit: I’m unsure if you are actually closed but it is my birthday in July and I so wish to...
Read moreVisited for dinner 20th may. Positive: The lady welcoming you at the front door and all the service staff did an excellent job good selection of wines with some nice choices food reflects a research in tastes with some nice combinations, but there was something missing to close the plates. As an example the proportion of the sauce in the pulpo was leaving you with a dry dish after a few bites.
Negatives: toilette were very close to our table the chef was looking outside the kitchen while picking his nose and ears!!! the chef was way too loud with the service staff disturbing the atmosphere.
The rather unhygienic attitudes of the chef would deserve less stars, but service staff and food...
Read moreI had to leave my food to write this. I'm not gonna talk about the tuna because it's tarifa / Cadiz but I will tell you we had the solmillo / fillet of beef (which I usually don't order) and this is not one of, the best piece of fillet meat I have ever eaten. I have dined at some of the finest steakhouses in New York, Toronto & the Middle East and this tops most of it. The servers are very polite, attentative and friendly. Great recommendations and overall a beautiful dinner experience. Keep it up guys, you are more than 5 stars...
