Had really high hopes after reading reviews on here, and wanted to try it all. So I had a mix kit of the curry, Hummus, falafel, fried cabbage something, pita and soufflé with salad and couscous. I was actually disappointed. The flavors was off; the Hummus was bitter but without any protruding flavor at all, very dry and not creamy like a Hummus should be. Desperately in need of lemon! The couscous way too sweet but the cilantro saved it from being saved for desert, the pita was barely chewable, it felt old. The fried cabbage was really just dough with some strands of cabbage to lighten the texture, it was too heavy on the dough and became hard to swallow. The falafel... Oh how it make me feel sad to write a negative review of a homemade falafel which could have been awesome. But it was so dry, so compact, not fluffy and creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside as it should be. It was overdone, waaaaaay overdone. Like it was somebody's leftovers from the day before, refried. The salad was lettuce and some carrots with a teaspoon of something that tasted like tsatsiki on top - yeah super boring salad and although the dressing was good it felt displaced to go with the asian/Lebanese cuisine. BUT- the Indian soufflé was awesome. Cheesy gooey goodness and crisp outside. Flavor was perfect. And also the curry. It was really really good! I love the concept of homemade vegetarian and organic food with love, I just wish I felt like it was worth the money. Will not be...
Read moreOh my gosh!!! I think this is my favourite restaurant in Tarifa- it is just so lovely in practically every way. Delightful ambiance, beautiful setting off a lovely street in the old town, lovely decor… And the food is so wonderful and comforting. Without a doubt, the food in Tarifa overall is excellent, but sometimes restaurants can lack rounded veggie options, so it is so amazing to have a place like this where everyone can have a meal that is delicious and satisfying. The staff are all truly kind and attentive- the vibe is so cozy and welcoming, it really feels like you’re at home here. I would definitely recommend the onion bhajis as they are out of this world..! But other menu highlights include the falafel, the samosas and the homemade seitan dishes, which I really loved- but everything we had was wonderful. To top it all off, the dishes are all portioned generously and value for money here is really good. I highly recommend for everyone to try this restaurant- even if you arent vegan/vegetarian you will truly enjoy yourself and have an...
Read moreExcellent vegetarian food (I’m an omnivore and I really loved this place), with a variety of cuisine types (a huge relief). They prepare the food extremely quickly, and it arrives hot and tasty!
We tried an Indian platter, a burrito, a lasagna, and a seitan plate. Our favorites were the seitan steak (which is crazy for me to say because sometimes I’ve really disliked it when it’s all grainy and hard; this was soft and delicious) and the Indian platter.
We ate here for lunch and came right back for dinner the same day. It’s a pretty small place, so it can be hard to get seats if it’s very busy. It also can be a little warm inside.
We also tried another place in town on the main, busier street that emphasizes over and over that they’re slow food and it takes time…that place was SO slow; in contrast, this place was VERY quick to get food out to customers! It was a big improvement over the...
