Galle Nest Villa — Hotel in Galle

This guesthouse is good value for money with excellent service by the owner. We shared beers, did my washing and very helpful all for free.|I had the penthouse with private balcony offering views across the street and 4 poster bed, aircon, 2 showers (hot and cold). Breakfast was filling and lots of food (had egg hopper one morning) on offer from the owner and his wife. |One thing they might like is to do breakfast on a big table so guests can chat.||It's a R250 ride from the station but not much around here in terms of food. Thus overall the place is lovely but does mean you have to stay out all day or get loads of tuk tuk thus perhaps if I did it again I would stay one night in the Fort at slightly higher cost or nearer a beach and tuk-tuk / train to the Fort for sight seeing as next to...

I was very fortunate to find the Nest Villa Hotel. First, the family is wonderful and provides excellent service, a wonderful man named Ashok owns it, helped by his sweet wife and two children. The rooms are spotlessly clean, there are some nice balconies to eat and relax, hot water heaters, and most of all, at least for me, it is easily the best internet connection I have found in my travels in Asia. Many hotels and private Airbnb's have spotty internet, and it is almost always a problem, but not here. I was able to hold meetings with people overseas, stream movies without interrupton, and it was a real pleasure. Both A/C and non A/C rooms. A very nice and clean house with a green garden, not far from Galle Fort and the railway station. It belongs to a family of 6 (3 generations), really friendly, kind and helpful. They provide super delicious Lanka-style breakfast, as well as fruits and tea, coffee. They are ready to answer all your questions and even lend you their umbrella if you need one.
