Himana Beach Rest — Hotel in Matara

Disappointing Experience at Himana Beach Rest, Matara. My recent visit to Himana Beach Rest in Matara left much to be desired. While the location boasts scenic views, the overall experience fell short of expectations.

Firstly, the lack of standard bathroom facilities was a significant downside. No bathroom mirror, coupled with the absence of a fan (save for a stand fan) made for an uncomfortable stay. Moreover, the pricing seemed unreasonable, especially when considering the limited amenities provided.

Adding to the disappointment was the policy of charging full-day rates for a half-day stay. This felt unfair and didn't align with the industry standards. Additionally, the owner's demeanor towards customers lacked friendliness, leaving a negative impression overall.

For the price paid, one would expect more comprehensive facilities and a warmer hospitality. Unfortunately, Himana Beach Rest failed to deliver on both fronts. Potential visitors should carefully consider their options...

Disliked Nearby accommodation not too many establishments where to go for a meal; On the beach only locals, there is nothing anywhere;

The accommodation did not suit us very well, we imagined it a little differently. The room is in a building that looks gloomy to us and the room too, we didn't feel very comfortable there. There is also nothing much around. This accommodation did not meet our expectations, but someone may be excited by the location right next to the beach. In the end, we shortened the accommodation from 4 nights to 1 and went somewhere else.

I’m giving it good review beacuse I think people overall will like it, it just don’t suit our expectations when we wanted to rest after 12 days...

This accommodation is very well placed in old Matara, so the surroundings are beautiful and calm. It is worth to mention its proximity to the bus station too. From inside, the room was lovely, clean and comfortable with the extra surprise of sea views, and all this for a good price. The owner was always present and...
