Hotel Nawathana — Hotel in Matara

Visited the second time this year with the family. This is a very practical (although small) place, five minitues from the main Matara Bus stand. lovely quaint little rooms, private and ample. The owner is pleasent and caring for all his guests. Parking is available, and ample room for kids to play. Bordered walk ways, sitting-out restaurant/eating facilities, open to the lovely beach that stretches way up to the Nilawelli River's mouth. Its pleasant, relaxing and just what you'd expect from a resort hotel such as this. Oh! and it's next-door to the lovely 5 Star Dutchman's Street Restaurant. Amazing start-class meals especially at night under the stars and beautifully lit-up table-area. Nawathenne Hotel is just great for a quick getaway, a romantic fling or for the entire family. The staff in particular are genuinely nice, spreading a good portion of typical southern-hospitality. We truly enjoyed the stay with their lovely meals and Chef-Kapila's dedication to quality. Initially i feel kind of disappointment of choosing this place due to difference reasons but while stay, gradually it change to some positive attitudes.

I found this place from booking.com so my advise is when you booking through the booking.com you have to be aware of the doller rate. Because i face some difficulties while check-in due to increase of the doller value.(I have to pay more than i expected due to increase of doller value)

Another thing is they have no preparation for the power failure, so keep that in mind. Also they don't have much options for the breakfast.

Small tip - Other than your usual things, include tooth paste, water bottles, sleepers, extra sops (if you can) into your luggage.😊😊😊

Although they try their best to offer 5 🌟 facilities in low budget. Sea bath, sun bath, 🏊 pool, are some activities that can experience in here.

This place is an absolute gem!! |We arrived and they had no deluxe rooms left, so the put us in an even bigger beautiful room with a sea view for the same price! Excellent service! The room was clean, fresh and had a tv and powerful A/C! The bed and pillows were potentially the best I’ve ever slept on, no exaggeration!
