From the moment I arrived at the IRIS Hotel in Kandy, I was captivated by its seamless blend of colonial charm and modern luxury. The staff’s warm hospitality instantly made me feel at home, turning this hotel into a true sanctuary in Sri Lanka’s cultural capital.The Deluxe Room I stayed in was pure bliss—featuring a plush king-sized bed, a refreshing rainfall shower, and stunning views of the Kandy Hills. The rooftop restaurant was another highlight, offering gourmet dishes and breathtaking panoramic views.

Two staff members, in particular, made my experience unforgettable: Mr. Ranjit and Mr. Habi. Mr. Ranjit greeted me with a warm welcome that set the tone for my stay. His insider tips about Kandy’s hidden gems were spot-on, making me feel like a local as I explored the city. His friendliness and knowledge truly enhanced my trip. Mr. Habi, who worked at the rooftop restaurant, provided impeccable service that elevated every meal. His attentiveness and care ensured that dining there was a delight, adding a special touch to an already amazing experience.Their dedication and personal touches made my stay at IRIS exceptional, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to outstanding hospitality.

Excellent effort by the staff and a beautiful location. Breakfast was good with some alternative options offered due to allergies. Located in the hills above the city, we had concerns about transportation to and from the city center. Luckily Uber and Pick Me connected us to tuk tuk drivers without too much of a wait. Some lack of basic features and comforts would probably prevent a return visit. It’s a very new hotel so most of these issues will hopefully be rectified in the near future. The “blackout” curtains in the room do not close fully due to a large 4 foot wide sheer curtain area between them, which presents privacy issues as well as letting in excessive light. A thin single sheet is all that is provided on the otherwise comfortable bed, with no thicker blanket or comforter available, even when inquiring with the staff. We had a beautiful view from our room with a nice accessible balcony, but it was completely bare with zero seating options. Water pressure from the sink and shower are low and the hot water heater struggled to produce any consistent hot water. Drinking water is provided daily from an in-house filtration system, but unfortunately smelled and tasted quite foul. There is no sound deadening to be found in the structure of this building so prepare to hear quite a bit of noise. WiFi suddenly stopped working on our last night here with the previously available network being unavailable for over 12 hours. They’ve got a nice piece of property here with a solid foundation for something great, but some refinements are definitely needed to...

I had a fantastic experience at Iris Kandy Hotel! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and exceptional service. The hotel’s calm, Zen-inspired ambiance instantly made me feel relaxed. The decor, with its modern aesthetics and soothing earth tones, creates a peaceful retreat in the heart of Kandy.

The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. I also loved waking up to the stunning views of the surrounding greenery.

The restaurant exceeded my expectations with its delicious mix of authentic Sri Lankan and Western cuisine. Every meal was fresh and flavorful, and the service was impeccable.
