WARNING!!!! NEVER EVER STOP AT THE K HOLIDAY HOTEL if you want to have a good holidays.|During our long trip across of all Sri Lanka island (from West to East and from North to South) I met so many different local and other nationality people. All of them, Literally ALL of them were so kind and hospitable. I thought that this is the paradise on the earth ... this is the place where people respect and like each other.||BUT ... One day we ( my family and 2 my best friends Sri Lankans nationalities) came to the sity Tissamaharama which located close to Yala Park and decided to stop at the small hotel under the name K Holiday. The owners are local family. From the first side they were look like a normal and kind people. ||BUT ... Just imagine!!! before the making of the booking, the owner asked me which nationality we are. She told me that she doesn't want to invite to her hotel local people and some of the other nationalities because ALL of them are THIEFS. She said it in front of my friends!!! and after the asking her why you are so disrespectful to the people you see first time, she start to shout on us. Suddenly her husband came out from the one of the room (he was wearing only the pants and wasn't ashamed about this), he started to shout on us as well and after few seconds decided to beat one of my friend. We decided to leave this "NICE" family and "NICE" hotel alone and went to our car. They continue to pursue us and throw stones to us and to our car.|WARNING!!!! Read moreThe family who run this hotel are lovely! They were so helpful with all our questions, provided a good Sri Lankan breakfast each day (even packing it to take away at 4:30am on the day of our safari!) and the hotel is in a great location, close to food stores and a restaurant. ||The room (#3) was basic as expected, the bed was a small double bed, there was a private bathroom and ceiling fan. We visited on the 30th June for 2 nights and it was incredibly hot at night, possibly because there is no window to allow a breeze of cool night air in? Also the mosquito net appeared to be for a single bed, it only just covered the bed. ||That said we enjoyed our stay, the safari we booked through the hotel was ran by a friend of theirs (Yala Wild Safari by Hotel Tissa I believe) and was amazing! We opted for the morning tour, 4:30am - 12 noon and we would highly recommend it! By 10am we had seen leopards, elephants, eagles, crocodiles and lots of beautiful birds! The guide/driver was very knowledgeable and was always in touch with other drivers trying to find out where the best animals were. ||Both the safari driver and the couple running K Holiday hotel were always happy to help and always smiling - and this made our stay in Tissa...
Read moreK Holiday in Tissa is a simple but friendly place to stay, the non A/C room was great. ||Best thing is their jeep safari, our driver was absolutely brilliant and I recommend booking your trip with them even if not staying there.||The driver parked near a watering hole, one or two other jeeps stopped briefly and then drove away. He sat scanning the view. A crocodile popped its head out of the water and he spotted another one under the tree. He then saw a chameleon and two large lizards, his patience paid off.||When about 14/15 jeeps descended on the leopard, he manoeuvred us to get a great view but drove safely (unlike some others). Once we had seen the leopard / took photos, he moved back so other tourists could see also. |He was very knowledgeable about all the various birds / monkeys and the park itself,...
