Kandy City Village Home Stay — Hotel in Sri Lanka

We lived here for a week. In the room we got conditioner and vent, bed, couple of bedside table and same big one. Sleep there was very comfortable. Place is quite quiet, so nothing will disturb your dreams. Owner is a perfect man, who can do as much as he can for you. He offer us breakfast, mb lunch, tea with toasted bread (jam is amazing). Breakfast cost a lot, but it's fair for their size. I ve never eat all of it. There are also fried eggs, fruits, tea/coffe with milk or not and toasted bread. You also can buy water there. Owner give us his wide hats to save us when we reached sigiriya. Owner recommended us his friend who help us with our trips outside the city. Really good man, awesome tuktuk driver. Location is not quite well, but all day and night along the nearest road stay a lot of tuktuk and you can drive everywhere. But this is not hotel problem. The city is a little bit dirty and full of people and cars. Better to go somewhere on tuktuk. But if you want to walk you can easily reach Dalada Maligawa, lake and clock tower.

Stayed here 2 nights. It is very nice accommodation. With beautiful garden and not noisy place. 10-15 minutes from Kandy train station. Room is spacious and clean with comfortable bed and air conditioner. Staff is very kind and helpful. Arranged pick up from railway station. Breakfast was so nice (3.5 usd). The tuk tuk driver who pick me up at the railway station is a nice guy (his name is Akbar Ali). I had a one day tour with him and tour was really nice. He offer me a reasonable price and i was really satisfied in his service. Next time when i travel Kandy again i will return to this accommodation and will travel with Ali again. Laundry service is available. When you arrive at Kandy ask hotel for pick up service. Ali and other tuk tuk drivers will pick up with cheap price. Anyway hotel is clean and spacious. Kandy City Village was lovely, really comfortable room with a very large bed, aircon worked well. Shower hot, everywhere spotlessly clean. The owner/manager was very helpful and gave us a great recommendation for dinner one night, plus called us a tuktuk to the station, and generally answered anything! They have a supply of bottles water to buy in reception, which is very handy. Large spacious property, with an area outside the rooms with sofas and table/chairs for dining/playing cards. It is well located to walk places, and please don't be alarmed by the area at the bottom of the hill before the property, it looks a bit grim but it is a very pleasant place the property is at the top.
