The rooms had a no views but mosquito infested spider webs and dust. Blood sucking bugs in bed/mattress propping up and mosquitoes. No room cleaning every day even after placing request. Our bins were getting full with baby nappies, food & stuff. Though keys were handed over, they did not bother to clean or clear them. The bathroom was disgusting and mouldy. Neither tissue rolls or toiletries replaced. Intermittent internet available only in some areas eg.. Lobby. 4G internet only, no broadband. ||||It’s not guarantee that we will get the same room which is on display online. Dogs inside the hotel compound and gang of street dogs around the corner. One of the guest was bitten by a dog during our stay on 21st Feb 2017. We were horrified when the manager/owner said not to worry it is just a family dog. ||||A steep uphill and a steep downhill to reach the compound even tuk-tuk's struggle to climb. At any time of the day you have to dread the pack of dogs to reach any shop or restaurant. At night (around 7pm) it was quiet and dark ruled dog gangs. We did not feel safe at all. It was pitch black and had a terrible vibe. No stores any were near to the hotel and nothing to eat out. You had to walk to the other side of train station to find food to eat. Website claims 24x7 hotel reception. Not true… It shuts around 10:30pm and everything around the compound gets dark. I would not recommend this...

I don't think its safe at all.||It was pitch black and had a terrible vibe.||Close to the station yes.. but you had to walk to the other side to find food to eat.||I would recommend this place to anyone.||If you're coming out of the train station. I suggest to book something on the left side where there are things to do. Lots of cafes. Unless the right side that was like a dead city.||Thank you. I hope this helps another...
Read moreWe were met at the station by one of the hotel staff members who offered us use of his taxi service. We agreed and asked him to take us to a place we had read about in our guide book, he warned us it was far out of town but as skeptical travelers, we insisted on viewing it. He was indeed correct: it was far and the rooms were more expensive than our nightly budget. He offered us a very good price for a 4-person sharing room at his hotel and took us there without any additional taxi charge. The room was clean and bright with big windows overlooking the gorgeous hills of Kandy. We couldn't pinpoint exactly why we loved it so much but it really was such a lovely place to stay. The staff was great, particularly Benedict and bought us coffee and bananas in the morning, gave us advice and recommendations and just generally contributed to a very pleasant stay. Don't be put off by your initial impression of the grounds (as we were at first), have a look closer and you will be very impressed! The property is located on quite a steep hill about a ten minute walk from Kandy town but the house even offers a quaint pathway that allows you to bypass the steep...
