The location of this hotel is honestly unbeatable — right on the beach with a gorgeous pool and easy access to the sea. There are plenty of little shops and restaurants around too, so it’s really handy if you need to grab anything. Our room was fine — good air conditioning and comfortable enough for the few nights we stayed. Breakfast was solid with a good variety, and the food on the lunch menu was actually quite nice — definitely better than the dinner buffet, which was disappointing. On our last two nights, the buffet had a poor selection and the same desserts repeated, which felt a bit lazy. One thing that really took away from the experience was how pushy some of the staff were when it came to tipping. We absolutely understand that tips are important and we always give them — but it shouldn’t feel so forced. Staff were hovering around after very small tasks, sometimes knocking on our door just to ask how the room was, and clearly expecting something. My mam had someone take her bag about 100 metres and then just stood there waiting for a tip — it made her uncomfortable. Even when we were being shown to a table, it felt like a tip was being expected right away. On top of that, a service charge and taxes were already added to our room bill, which made it noticeably more expensive than the price we originally saw when booking. It would be nicer if things were a bit more relaxed and genuine in that sense. We did have a good stay overall, but one other letdown was when my husband ordered the seafood platter (around 5000 rupees) because he was really craving lobster and jumbo prawns — both listed on the menu. When the dish came, neither were on the plate. He asked and was told they weren’t in season — fair enough if that’s the case, but it should have been mentioned before ordering, especially at that price. We’d had jumbo prawns the day before at another place nearby, so it just felt a bit off. Charging full price without what was promised is not great. All in all, it’s a lovely spot and we did enjoy our time, but there are definitely a few areas where they could improve the overall guest experience.

Our stay at Paradise Beach Club was absolutely fantastic, and we believe it is one of the best properties in Mirissa. Located along the beautiful Mirissa Beach on Sri Lanka's southern coast, this hotel truly feels like a hidden gem. The architecture of the property is simple yet elegant, designed to bring the ocean view right to your room. The proximity to the sea and the stunning views make this hotel one of the best sea-view destinations we’ve ever visited. The rooms are spacious and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The bedding is comfortable, and the linens and towels are exceptionally clean. The bathrooms are large, hygienic, and well-maintained, which added a lot of comfort to our stay. The hotel features a large swimming pool, which is very clean and well-maintained, along with a kids’ pool, making it an ideal destination for families. The bar facilities are excellent, offering a variety of high-quality foreign liquors, local spirits, and well-crafted cocktails. The restaurant at Paradise Beach Club serves a daily buffet for breakfast and dinner, with a wide range of options including Sri Lankan and Western dishes. The taste and quality of the food were impressive, and we particularly enjoyed the authentic Sri Lankan flavors. The staff service was generally friendly and attentive, which made our stay comfortable. However, we feel that the staff could be more cheerful and welcoming, as their serious demeanor at times took away from the otherwise warm atmosphere. One small downside was the exchange rate policy, as the property charges an additional 5 LKR per USD above the actual rate. For a property of this caliber, this practice seemed unnecessary and could be improved. Overall, Paradise Beach Club is a top-tier choice for anyone visiting Mirissa. From its stunning views and great amenities to the delicious food and family-friendly atmosphere, this hotel offers a truly luxurious experience. We highly recommend it for a memorable stay on the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

We were a group of five who stayed for two nights at Paradise Beach Club Resort in Mirissa. While the location is absolutely stunning — right on the beach with beautiful views — our experience with the rooms left quite a bit to be desired. My husband, our 4-year-old daughter, and I were charged for a double superior room, but only a king bed and a single mattress on the floor were provided. The room itself was far from what we expected for the price. The bathroom had a constant unpleasant smell, and the shower drain was so clogged that water started coming out from under the toilet. We had to request to be moved the next day. Our friends’ room had a leaking toilet and, although they were overall satisfied, they also noticed it could have been much cleaner. The cleaning standards across the resort appear quite low — fans covered in dust, stained linens and towels, and minibars in very poor condition (dirty and old). It seems the cleaners aren’t provided with proper equipment to do their job properly. The food was decent, though not what you’d expect from a 4-star resort. A downside is that even water wasn’t included during buffet meals, which felt unnecessary given the room rates. On the positive side, the Ayurvedic clinic at the top of the building was an excellent experience — professional, relaxing, and very friendly staff. In fact, all the staff we interacted with were kind and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, Paradise Beach Club Resort has so much potential thanks to its unbeatable beachfront location and lovely staff. However, the management really needs to invest more in room maintenance, cleanliness, and attention to detail to justify the prices and deliver the “superior” experience guests expect.

Upon arrival at Paradise Beach Club Mirissa, I was genuinely impressed by the stunning pool area right at the entrance. The visual impact was immediate and created high expectations for what seemed like it would be a memorable stay. Unfortunately, this positive first impression quickly deteriorated.||||The most concerning aspect of my stay was the apparent discriminatory service I experienced as an Asian guest. The staff consistently showed preferential treatment to other “white colored” guests, greeting them with warm smiles and prompt attention while providing noticeably less enthusiastic service to Asian visitors like myself. ||||This differential treatment was both obvious and unacceptable.||||Operational Failures|| • Priority given to white guests - Staff repeatedly attended to white guests first, even when Asian guests had been waiting longer|| • Luggage handling mishap - The hotel staff forgot to deliver our bags to our room, causing unnecessary inconvenience|| • General service inconsistency - The level of attention and care varied dramatically based on guest demographics||||The dining experience fell short of expectations. While not terrible, the food quality could definitely be improved. For a beachside resort in Sri Lanka, I expected more flavorful and well-prepared meals that would showcase local cuisine.||||What started as a promising stay with an impressive pool area quickly turned into a disappointing experience. The discriminatory service practices overshadowed any positive aspects of the property. No guest should feel unwelcome or receive substandard treatment based on their ethnicity or appearance.||||Paradise Beach Club Mirissa has potential with its beautiful pool and beachside location, but the fundamental issues with staff training and service equality make it impossible to recommend. Until the management addresses these serious concerns about discriminatory practices and improves overall service standards, I cannot endorse this establishment.||||Would I return? No, and I would not recommend this hotel to fellow travelers, particularly those who might face similar...
