The Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa is nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, the entire staff made us feel so welcome with their warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness, setting the tone for an unforgettable stay. It’s rare to find a team so genuinely dedicated to ensuring every guest feels at home. The hotel manager went above and beyond to greet us personally and make sure every detail of our stay was perfect, adding such a special, personal touch. The restaurant staff, in particular, were exceptional – every waiter and team member treated us with such care and kindness, anticipating our every need and making each meal a joy to experience. Their friendliness and attention to detail truly elevated our dining experiences, making us feel like valued guests every single day. Every detail of this hotel exudes luxury and comfort, and it was truly a dream experience. The rooms were spacious, impeccably designed, and unbelievably comfortable – a perfect retreat after a day packed with activities. The food and drinks were outstanding, offering a culinary journey that delighted our taste buds with every meal. Whether it was breakfast, après-ski bites, or a decadent dinner, every dish was crafted with care and creativity, with the restaurant staff ensuring every dining moment was flawless. The spa deserves special mention – a stunning, modern oasis of relaxation that perfectly balances cutting-edge design with serene tranquility. We could have spent all day indulging in the many amenities it offered. What sets the Tschuggen Grand apart, though, are the incredible activities available. From snow yoga to a guided snow hike, a cold water plunge in a pristine lake, and invigorating workout classes – every experience was enhanced by Nikolaos, our phenomenal guide and instructor. His expertise, enthusiasm, and warm personality made each activity not only enjoyable but truly memorable. We left feeling rejuvenated and inspired! A huge highlight of our stay was the private ski lift, exclusive to hotel guests, which whisked us up to a breathtaking ski and sledding area. The convenience of this unique feature cannot be overstated, and the added bonus of a lively bar and restaurants at the top made it even more enjoyable. Every moment at Tschuggen Grand Hotel felt like a perfectly curated luxury escape. The exceptional staff, from the hotel manager to the restaurant waiters, truly made us feel like family. We cannot recommend this incredible hotel enough and are already looking forward to our next visit!

This place is dramatically overpriced. The spa looks nice from the outside (and the spa is very nice inside too), but that and the Tschuggen-Bahn are the only modern things there. The good: the staff are very friendly for the most part. The ski shop downstairs is fantastic and the owners are utterly wonderful and knowledgeable. The food is of the standard you expect, and the Bahn is nice to have and makes it easy to get on the slopes. That and the shuttle buses means that it’s a good location as a skiing base in Arosa. I guess this is why it gets the business it gets. The bad. This hotel is mired in the 1980s. Being handed room keys with a quarter of a kilogram of metal as a keyring with your room number on it wasn’t a great start. The bar felt like it was from the same era - the crooner on the piano certainly kept his repertoire limited t to songs from the 70s to early 90s. Welcome drink? Ok, but don’t order anything over 20 CHF. Cheap gin: yes; but sorry, no tonic. Barman could have handled that better. The room was clean, but tired-looking. Like beginning yellowing plastic on light switches; a bathroom full of marble that looked great and premium, no doubt, when Steffi Graf was winning Wimbledon, but just a bit ancient now. Want to park your car in a garage and not in the open air? No problem. Only you won’t be told it costs 30 CHF a night until you check out. I understand that they are slowly renovating the rooms. They need to. There are other hotels in Switzerland that blow the Tschuggen Grand out of the water in terms of luxury/ room quality/ presentation for a similar price. The TGH is lucky that these hotels aren’t in Arosa.
