Your response reflects the same dismissive and unprofessional attitude we experienced during our stay. While different breakfast options might be arranged by travel agencies, this does not justify the substandard and unacceptable conditions we encountered.
Dirty glasses, stained tablecloths, stale bread, and leftover croissants are not a matter of group selection—they highlight poor service and lack of attention to detail. The absence of table settings—no plates or cutlery—forcing guests to serve themselves like in a cafeteria, is entirely unacceptable for a Mövenpick hotel. This lack of basic hospitality is inappropriate and damages your brand’s reputation.
Deflecting responsibility to travel agencies fails to address these issues. Mövenpick should guarantee a minimum standard of cleanliness and professionalism for all guests.
Rather than taking accountability, your response mirrors the dismissive attitude of your staff. This is far below the standard expected of Mövenpick and the Accor group.
“Disappointing Experience – Far Below Mövenpick Standards”
Our stay at Mövenpick Egerkingen was a significant disappointment, particularly during breakfast. Despite the hotel carrying the Mövenpick name, the experience fell far below the standards expected from such a renowned brand. Guests were segregated into groups and served drastically different breakfast qualities in adjacent halls. While one group enjoyed a rich, fresh spread, our group was given stale, limited, and unhygienic options, including dirty glasses, smudged tableware, and unclean tablecloths. Worse, we had to set our own tables and fetch napkins.
The hotel itself feels outdated, and this lack of care extends to the service. A staff member actively enforced the segregation, making guests feel a deliberate sense of hierarchy and status differentiation. When we raised concerns, the staff mockingly dismissed us, showing no willingness to address the issues. This approach was not only unprofessional but completely unacceptable. Such disrespectful treatment is entirely at odds with the values Mövenpick claims to uphold.
It’s evident that customer satisfaction is not a priority here. This careless and amateurish management should be urgently reviewed by the Accor Group. Mövenpick Egerkingen, despite its name, utterly fails to deliver the quality, respect, and hospitality expected from the brand. Travelers, especially from Turkey, should avoid this hotel to prevent disappointment.
The rooms lack grounded electrical outlets, making it impossible to use modern devices like Dyson products or other appliances requiring a grounded plug. The sockets are 30 years old, unsuitable for today’s needs, and clearly haven’t been...
Read moreThis hotel’s facilities were fantastic, though expensive. The restaurants were top notch. They must have a famous Italian chef employed because the food from the Italian restaurant inside the hotel was the best I have had for years, but it also felt like we were paying celebrity chef prices 😅. A meal for my large family cost about 190 CHF. Dinner ant both restaurants is by reservation only but we were able to get a walk in table with no reservation around 21:30 when we arrived at the hotel on a Friday. Dinner at the restaurants begins at 18:30.
Our “family” room was the same as the other rooms, but had 2 double beds pushed together like 1 massive wide bed. I did expect the family room to be larger and have some sort of sofa or sofa bed like is typical in Euro family rooms. The mattresses seemed a little old and overused but the linens were clean and covered up the old mattresses; you would only notice if you pulled the sheets back. We did notice 1 small forest cockroach running around our floor at night, but considered this an anomaly because the remainder of the room looked clean. With the hotel being situated neatly inside a forested area with no screens on the windows, this critter is no surprise if the windows are left open for any matter of time to air out the room. They did not give us very much toilet paper, and very few towels, for what is called a “family” room. We had to request 2 more towels, which they provided at no cost. For the toilet paper, we brought some of our own so that wasn’t an issue but I’m sure we could have received more from room service if requested. I do think a room labeled as a “family” room should have extra supplies. The room had sufficient soaps via squeezable bottles on the walls and in the shower, with both shampoo and conditioner options, as is typical in more modern hotels these days. There was no body lotion provided from what we found.
The family room price included parking and breakfast buffet. Breakfast was top notch with both hot and cold foods. You can make yourself a full English breakfast here. Breakfast is served from 06:30-10:30. One of the best parts was the automatic late checkout of 12:00, which was very convenient not having to rush out of the room in the morning with our children. Overall, enjoyable stay, but an expensive...
Read moreIt's very bad. Don't visit this hotel. Very cheap. from outside, it looks beautiful but inside it's worth less. It's seems the management is penny pinching from every corner in this hotel room. There are not enough power outlets to charge personal phones or electronics. Non working air condition. Has issues with the bathroom with showers. When we had Don't disturb tag on door. They don't leave anything. Like water bottles. Towels soap, etc. And thay aspect us to use the toilet sink water to drink. The manager name is Michael he is 6 feet tall he has glasses white, which may be Swiss national. l spoke to him he was very rude and disrespectful to me when I asked if he could help. He refused to help. It seems like he was racially profiling me . And keep telling me that use the toilet sink water for drinking. He refused to let room service personnel ro leave two drinking water bottles at my room doorstepi. It seems like he thinks that I am or my group is from a third-world country, and we don't deserve it. We or my group spend every penny to an $ that we spent on your hotel our hard earned blood money. The owner of this hotel read this, and please take some action on the incident. This is unacceptable. I will keep putting bad experiences and reviews. By the way, I am an American citizen. I hope this posting in google review about your hotel will do something good or something bad. The manager should have had this incident taken seriously and de escalate. But he made it escalate. That why i had to take this step. with a bad attitude. Every group that visits this hotel on vacation spent enough money. At least we accept this service. I think your hotel industry's bread and butter that comes from the money we spend on hotel like yours. Be careful from now on. I will inform all of my friends and family, and relatives. Not to wisit this hotel if they go on any...
