Waldhotel Very good hotel , as for me the best from 3 hotels in Burgenstock resort. Because the hotel is new, rooms are spacious, well decorated and price is very reasonable. All rooms are facing the mountains view. Inside the Hotel few clinics and rehab center, but to be honest we didn’t see much anything related to medicine so this didn’t bother us at all. Only one thing which we strongly didn’t like is the concept of the restaurants in Burgenstock resort… you can’t visit dinner or lunch if you didn’t book in advance table … all the things related to get food for us was sometimes a real problem… room dining mesas well very complicated (food choices availability according to the timing) . As an example- you can order Cesar salad only from 8.30 pm to 7 am … This is not fine at all dear management… as well as breakfast ala carte menu… with limited choices of food and every morning same food … Food .. restaurants.. these systems has to be simplified.. as people are coming here to relax and don’t rush for a lunch or dinner because your restaurants either fully booked or doesn’t work on specific dates or don’t have available time preferred by the guest … this is really really big headache.. must be improved!

Vor 3 Tagen, war ich extra in diesem Ressort, um mich etwas umzusehen, denn ich hatte vor, zwei ältere Leute dort an verschiedenen Tagen einzuladen. Mit der ersten Person, einer älteren Dame, war ich also an diesem Sonntag dort im Restaurant Verbana zum Essen. Vorher betraten wir aber die Lobby und auch nach dem Essen, waren wir noch eine gute Dreiviertelstunde dort, und genossen noch einen Dessert und das Beste : Wir durften uns mit dem Bar-Manager, Herrn Keller ausführlich unterhalten und ein paar spezielle Wünsche anbringen, denen er sprach nachzugehen. Können nichts dafür, dass uns meistens viel mehr auffällt, aus anderen Gästen. So hörte uns Herr Keller, ein ganz sensationell positiv auf uns wirkender Mann,welcher die seltene Begabung hat, einem wirklich zuzuhören und auf gewisse Anliegen auch punktgenau eingehen zu können, beflissentlich und ganz genau zu. Hut ab vor solchem, immer seltener werdenden Tun ! Es wäre absolut unfair diese, Herrn Keller persönlich übermittelnden Anliegen hier nun auch noch einmal öffentlich darzulegen. Herr Keller wird das richten, da sind wir sehr sicher ! Eines sei hier doch aber noch erwähnt : Wirklich definitiv unverständlich ist, dass gewisse Türklinken von Türen und da bestehen Fotos meinerseits, total abgegriffen sind und es wirklich mehr als nötig wäre, diese mit wenigen Handgriffen kurz auszutauschen. Da bin ich mir sicher, dass das nicht nur mir auffällt, den diese Türgriffe bevor man sie anfasst, jeder zuerst hinschaut um auch zu sehen wo er hin greift. Die Bedienung und die ganze Umsorgung der Gäste, zumindest so wie wir sie erleben durften, lässt in unserem Sinne wirklich gar keine Wünsche übrig, außer dass den dort arbeitenden Herren definitiv und unbedingt eine Bundfaltenhose mit zwingend getragenem Gurt angefertigt werden muss. Wer die Augen nämlich ein bisschen offen hat, dem fällt sofort auf, dass die meisten dort arbeitenden Herren die Hosen viel zu weit unten tragen und die Hosen, wie man im Dialekt sagt, ein einziger Rumpf ist. Schon alleine eine Bundfalte an einer Hose verhindert das vorzüglich und macht viel mehr her bei einer solchen, sonst so sensationellen Destination, denn ist es nicht so, dass das Personal eigentlich die Visitenkarte einer guten Adresse ist ?! Wenn es schlecht ist, dann sagen wir immer zueinander: Da waren wir dreimal, das erste, das einzige und das letzte Mal. Aber hierher kommen wir definitiv einmal wieder im Frühling und im Sommer, denn die Aussicht, eine andere Temperatur und auch eine andere Stimmung, möchten wir dort einmal live wieder erleben und nicht nur das schlechte Wetter, dass aber dem Besuch an sich heute nichts abgebrochen hat. Nicht zuletzt dank Herrn Keller - Danke ! - Was aber definitiv wirklich überhaupt gar nicht geht ist, wenn man in diesem Ressort sich aufhält und dann noch tüchtig konsumiert für ein paar hundert Franken und für 3 Stunden und 23 Minuten dann 29 Franken für das Parkhaus bezahlt !!! Das ist sogar noch teurer als mitten in der Stadt Zürich und sogar die Hälfte wäre noch zu viel, also bitte unbedingt ändern, sonst sieht man mich dort nie mehr wieder !

For the rest: beautiful hotel. Amazing service, good breakfast, nice spa, and astonishing views.

I recently stayed at Waldhotel in the Burgenstock resort for 3 nights in May 2023. Let's start with the good - absolutely beautiful setting. Literally looks like a scene from the sound of music. Surrounded by views of the mountains on one side and lake Lucerne on the other. The resort property is expansive including all of the hotels, restaurants, and wellness activities. Nicely landscaped, beautiful walking paths and hiking trails. Some of the staff were excellent, especially the sommelier and a lot of the waiters in the various restaurants including Spices & the Oak Grill. Most of the food was absolutely top notch. The spa in the Waldhotel was beautiful, extremely clean, and not crowded.

Why I am rating a 4 instead of 5 - we are from America and wanted to connect our devices to the hotel room TV. Apple TV would not connect and we asked for help multiple times. We were ignored, and ended up not being able to use the TV. Not a huge deal, but expect more from a 5 star resort. Some of the restaurants are simply overpriced. The food was very good, but I have eaten at many high caliber restaurants (including Michelin star restaurants) in Paris and Zurich that rival the restaurants on the property and it just felt like they were price gouging for what we were getting. I felt the room decor of the Waldhotel could be improved, and the breakfast buffet was mediocre. And lastly, one complaint is the resort had a Disney-world esque feeling about it that we didn't love. There were buses of tourists coming up walking around to use the trails, coming in and out of the lobbies, and everything felt very commercialized at times.

Overall it was a nice stay, but think some improvements are needed to make it a true...

I loved my stay at the Waldhotel. There are not enough words to describe this spectacular resort. I wish I could’ve stayed longer. Three years ago, I stayed at the Burgenstock Hotels & Resort - Palace Hotel and it was a wonderful experience as well.

The Waldhotel is a lovely wellness resort with an amazing view and really thoughtfully designed rooms which are very comfortable and beautifully put together. There are incredibly thoughtful details throughout the room that I really appreciate. The room is full of small functional gestures, not to mention beautiful pieces and accessories (Eg the curtain on the balcony) that just makes it such a pleasure to be in the rooms. The bed is also one of the most comfortable I have slept on in a hotel.

I absolutely loved the breakfast. What a view! There are a lot of options, and everything I had was incredibly delicious.

Finally, it is really the staff that makes this place so magical. A huge thank you to the team for all his efforts to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. Thank you the wonderful team at breakfast for their attention to detail and kindness.

The stay left me feeling incredibly relaxed and excited to be back...
