Mixed feelings! 😣 3.3 stars out of 5! Lets start with getting to the hotel and find you ways when at the location: difficult. Approaching by car is a challenge. Clear signs signaling the hotel and its name would be appreciated. I did find it challenging to understand that the name posted is the actual Hotel Borsari. Also the names of the restaurant and other locations within the building are confusing. Plus the parking garage: make sure you can enter the preferred level for hotel guest in order to access the hotel straight from the parking garage. If not you end up using elevators and passing 4-5 different doors plus poorly eluminated walk ways … all with luggage 🧳 at night! Pretty much annoying! Not so much upscale hotel like! 👎 Staffing is super friendly and nice and very attentive! Great job. Let’s talk about the room: where is the TV?! Come on guys! 2025 and no TV?! Why? And like the other guest was referring: no coffee machine?! Plus what I can’t really get straight: two rooms inside the room: one for shower and sink, the other room for the toilet. Might be me but when I come from the toilet I do have a need to wash my hands. I don’t that to open a door, close it and the open another door to enter the other room for washing my hands… each time touching the door handle… Last but not least: great job on the breakfast: fresh and good quality selection of vegetables and fruits and fresh eggs bacon etc. love it. Summary: location needs improvement because if truly getting lost, and too many doors and handles to get around Staffing and food great Room: bring in a tv and coffee machine then we are talking 5* On a side note we did get a nice tour by the owner seeing the spa area which is outstanding and stunning! Definitely worth...
Read moreJust back from a 2 night stay at Borsari, part of Quartier Lodze and this is a truly unique recently opened hotel. It's just off the main square of the town; we walked there from the train station (10 minutes) and when you get to the hotel it's a remarkable sight - striking brickwork brings you into a central courtyard with several eating/drinking choices. So much to say, but in summary: Room was great size, lovely wood floor and an unusual but well deployed blend of classic and modern fittings We ate our first meal at the Saucitheque and it was a delicious and well presented combo of salad, croquettes and a ham and cheese board Breakfast was pastries, coffee (VERY smooth) and juice + granola - all good quality and served in the courtyard (which is very relaxing) Best of all though were the underground baths - currently a bit of a hidden feature but this is very much a secret lair type of place - two lap pools (different temperatures) + four gigantic cylinders of different temperatures - all beautifully lit to create great atmosphere. Hard to describe properly in words TBH but this place transports you into another world.
Unfortunately the 'le Cercle' restaurant (which seems to have already a strong following) was not open the evenings we were available, but I guess we'll just have to go back, which we look forward to doing.
Bottom line, have never seen a hotel or baths like this. Service is lovely and prices were all decent. There was a friendly buzz in the courtyard, we hung out there much more than expected (and so did quite a lot of other people) - it's much more cosy than in the main square,...
Read moreThis hotel was a true discovery! Perfectly situated in the triad of France, Switzerland, and Italy, it offers a serene escape while being incredibly close to Martigny's treasures – a quick stroll takes you to the Roman amphitheater, Château de la Bâtiaz, museums, and charming local shops. Plus, world-renowned destinations like Zermatt/Matterhorn, Geneva, Zurich, and Mont Blanc are just a short train or car ride away.||We highly recommend upgrading to a junior suite; while the standard rooms are fine, our suite was beautifully appointed and offered lovely mountain views. The dining experiences were a highlight: Café Alphonse was ideal for a quick espresso and pastry, while the wines and charcuterie at Saucithèque were simply superb – ask for a flight of the three local Martigny red wines! Le Cercle was a divine culinary experience and exceptional value. And only two words needed for dessert - Fondant Chocolat! Hats off to Chef Matteo, whose genius in the kitchen is matched only by his wonderful personality. Don't miss the tranquil baths in the cellar – a perfect way to begin or end your day.||What started as a convenient stopover on our Swiss train journey quickly became a destination in itself. We were thoroughly impressed by the hotel's charm and outstanding hospitality, and we're already...
