Stayed in July 2024.
Wow, wow, wow. Gstaad Palace was everything we heard about and more.
What absolutely puts this place apart and above all the rest is the level of service. The staff are attentive to a whole other level, they have a 6th sense to what you need and do it before even asked.
The restaraunt food was amazing, chef Luca definitely knows what he is doing.
The spa is good. the heated outdoor pool was really fun with all the water massage options they have available. The separate men/woman sauna rooms were also great, a lot of options available in there to relax.
We did not get to really use the indoor pool as it had a weird uncomfortable smell whenever we went there, this was beginning of July 2024. Also the outdoor Olympic size pool was closed due to technical problems so we did not get to try that.
The room itself was really great, felt very chalet style with wood everywhere, and the walk in closet was giant with a lot of space.
There are a few downsides to the room however.
First of all, please update the bed side locations to add some USB ports, and even some wall sockets. We like sleeping with our phones charging by the bed side and could not do it as there was nothing there.
Next, there is no air conditioning. Now this isn't that noticeable here as the air outside is nice and cool in Gstaad, even cold at night! But the problem with that is that we need to keep our windows open, and we had a neighbour who kept smoking cigars and weed and the smell was coming into our room and was absolutely unbearable. I'm not sure if anything can be done about that, but it was definitely unpleasant.
One more thing to add, there was one server in the Le Grand restaraunt (July 1st and 2nd) who kept sneezing and blowing his nose. I assumed it was due to allergies but nontheless we were somewhat uncomfortable with it. It puts people off, especially at such a high end and service oriented restaraunt.
Otherwise, the hotel is amazing, already looking into a winter stay to experience the real...
Read moreMy recent stay at the Gstaad Palace was, as always, an unforgettable experience. The junior suite I stayed in was absolutely stunning, a perfect blend of classic elegance and modern comfort, with every detail thoughtfully designed to ensure a truly relaxing stay.
The cuisine here is exceptional, showcasing the remarkable talent of the experienced Chef and his entire team. The pastry chefs create exquisite desserts but also delight guests with their outstanding contributions to the breakfast offerings. The maître de salle play a crucial role in elevating the dining experience, expertly highlighting the kitchen’s artistry and ensuring every meal is a memorable occasion.
The new restaurant’s layout is beautiful, creating a warm and sophisticated atmosphere that perfectly complements the culinary delights. During the summer, the terrace becomes an iconic spot, offering a magical ambiance that makes dining al fresco truly special.
The iconic lobby bar is another highlight, where the staff consistently impress with their attentive and professional service, making every moment there feel unique.
The service throughout the hotel is impeccable, transforming each stay into a personalized luxury experience at every level. Special mention to the concierge (both day and night) which satisfies all the possible needs together with the guest relations manager. Every time I return to Gstaad Palace, I feel right at home.
Without a doubt, this is the best place in the world to relax, recharge, and savor life’s pleasures. I am deeply grateful to the ownership for preserving this wonderful blend of familiarity, style, discretion, and warmth, passed down through generations.
Lastly, the spa is a serene sanctuary that perfectly complements the overall experience, offering a peaceful retreat to rejuvenate...
Read moreWe have been unusually fortunate to now be on our second stay at this unparalleled hotel. The standards in Switzerland are already quite high. That this hotel is in Gstaad - indeed, in some ways it's the face of Gstaad - elevate the standards even higher. But among the excellent hotels in this picture perfect town, the Palace is the top of the top. We have been told by multiple staff members "we would do anything for our guests" and "once you've been a guest here you'll always be one in our eyes". And they mean it. The hotel itself is Swiss perfection, down to every last detail, but it is the staff who define the word hospitality in their professionalism and attitude and who provide the magic. Many/most of these staff work exceedingly hard, certainly those in housekeeping, at the front deck, at the concierge desk, and most of all, in the restaurants. They can be here from early morning till late at night. But despite this hard work they consistently excel in being gracious and positive - perhaps at least partly out of pride, knowing that within the world of hotel hospitality, the "product" they are putting out is as good as anyplace on the planet. Among these staffers, special mention to Ervin and Francesco, who treated us to a memorably wonderful dinner tonight and are warm, fun (!) and supremely professional people who personify the culture of this most special hotel. And of course, Valentine, the front desk manager, who exudes excellence in herself and her superb staff. Thank you to Gstaad Palace for being that place that gives one comfort that this level of excellence in hospitality really does...
