Unlike what all the Indian customers mention in these reviews, the food and service is great! I have unfortunately first hand witnessed twice how the Indian “customers” treat the staff here and it’s not good, these people then write negative reviews that this place absolutely does not deserve. Either way let’s get into the actual review: The atmosphere is a combination of showing Bollywood references from Switzerland and providing a cozy place to dine. This might not be for everyone but it’s definitely cool when you’re aware of the historical Bollywood presence in Switzerland. The service was also really good, the food was served in a timely manner and the staff set up the tables appropriately for the ordered dishes and drinks. The food was also presented quite nicely. The food was also delicious. The presence of spice was sufficient and will also satisfy the less spice tolerant people. I’m glad that restaurants like this are able to keep a rich flavour without bombarding it with spices that would destroy the common people’s (read: non-Indian) tongue. The paneer wrap was really delicious and the prawn dish and chicken biryani were also really good. They also have ice cream that’s made in house which was really delicious! Together as a family we all picked different flavours: Strawberry, Hazelnut, Chocolate and Straciatella. Overall, take a good look at the more nuanced and positive reviews for this restaurant as for some reason this restaurant is a victim of negative review bombing from Indians essentially behaving like Karens. The food and service was really good and the atmosphere is more up to personal taste.

Mango in Gstaad is on the pricier side — but then again, it’s Gstaad, so that’s expected. The paneer dishes are the highlight (we especially liked the Achaari Paneer), while the spice level overall is more Western than truly Indian. We also tried the Butter Chicken and Salmon Curry with Garlic Naan — the naan can be skipped. The kitchen was busy during our visit. What makes the place stand out is the Bollywood vibe. There’s even a TV playing scenes from the iconic Bollywood movies shot in Gstaad. The town itself hasn’t changed a bit, and for desis of our generation, no Switzerland trip feels complete without reliving those moments here. A theme restaurant that captures the nostalgia perfectly — and that’s what makes it worth 5 stars.

BEFORE YOU COME HERE - ONLY THE LAMB IS HALAL. NOT THE CHICKEN. We came here today, assuming the food is halal, as it states it on google that the food served here is halal. We ordered butter chicken and other items. Then I had to ask if the meat is halal, then to be told chicken is not halal just the lamb. I had to cancel my dish, I was told you cannot cancel as it’s already cooked. I was not happy about this. Do not order cheese naan from here, it was not cooked properly, you can taste the flour and they did not take this off our bill either. We showed this to the waiter so he can show it to the chef. I would not recommend this place. If you’re a Muslim make sure you ask what is halal, as i was told only the lamb is halal.

Worst food , over pricy, we did a mistake to do a Bollywood tour , our train was late due technical issues , the owner - Satya didn’t even shared his no. And was on emails, and when we reach thr , we order food and he cancelled the half of our order of food which we ordered, without even asking us,we were hungry since morning and already were suffering in the trains and he forced us that we should 1st go for tour, however we reached before 4pm and sunset is around 9pm in Switzerland always … the tour was useless, and charged us for nothing …. full of negative attitude..

..

Guys - Don’t waste your money ..

REPLY TO YOUR RVIEW

Listen Satya ,

You are 0 and minus in customer services, we were adding food , and also who are you to tell us to have food later or that time , it’s our choice … First you take orders from client and then deny to client to have it. This is the way you were treating customers.

yes we asked you for the tour after reaching there, which you were obliging on us , that we were on fault. Upon that the attitude you carry I really feel sorry .. for you and the staff there. The way you treat customers is useless .. see the other reviews.. And pls stop Laing, there was no one after us to go or in the tour , your chauffeur went with hotel stuff somewhere , that’s what the lady thr told us … we saw it … we ordered tea at that time as it was badly rainy & we were waiting for our train , so we know how many Bollywood tours you had that day , we spoke to that lady who told it was no tour apart us ...🤣🤣 One thing for all - please stop wasting customers money and start respecting them , I make sure none of our family or friends visit you. will post in all my groups and social Media , no more...
