Our experience at Rialto began with an exceptional first impression, thanks to Mario’s remarkable hospitality. Despite the restaurant being incredibly busy, he remained professional, approachable, and attentive, ensuring we felt welcomed. His effort to accommodate our family after a 30-minute wait demonstrated exceptional customer care, making the wait worthwhile and setting a positive tone for the evening.
Once seated, the pace of service did not match the initial impression. Requests for drinking water had to be made multiple times before they were addressed, reflecting a noticeable delay. While the staff were consistently friendly and courteous, it was evident that they were either understaffed or overwhelmed during peak hours.
Despite this, the quality of the food was outstanding. We enjoyed the margarita pizza, pasta with bolognese sauce, grilled veal, tenderloin steak, mixed salad, green salad, and both the kids and adult veal escalope. Each dish was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection, and showcased the restaurant’s culinary expertise.
While the slow service during busy hours may make us hesitant to visit again at peak times, the delicious food and warm hospitality still shine as highlights. With better staff management during high-traffic periods, Rialto has the potential to offer an unmatched dining experience. It’s a place worth revisiting, particularly during quieter times, to fully enjoy its excellent cuisine and...
Read moreHost was extremely rude. After having sat down for about 20 minutes, the waiters did not attend us or take our orders. We tried getting their attention multiple times and were not able to do so. After the 30 minute mark they finally had the decency to give us water. Once we realized we were not being looked after, we tried calling on the host to tell him that we had waited too long and we were going to leave. The host rudely yelled at my girlfriend “do you know what day it is!? it is not my fault if you cannot wait for us.” For reference, it was the day of the Swiss Open Final. Therefore, the restaurant should have planned accordingly and evidently did not do so. After the host’s outburst my girlfriend replied that she did know what day it was but that we had waited too long and we wanted to leave. The host immediately yanked the menus off our hands and the table and sarcastically said “ok. Thank you.” (with a huge sarcastic smile on his face) and showed us the way out.
Extremely rude, shameful, and unacceptable service. With service like that their supposed michelin star is nowhere near warranted. We walked accross the street to Cappuccino, where the staff was SO kind and the food was amazing.
The host needs to check his...
Read moreThe manager and the staff was initially very nice, but no so nice when you don’t order number of items as per their policy (which don’t reveal until you are at the table). We ordered a pizza and a pasta between 4 which is when they said we have to make a minimum bill of CHF 12 per person. I said ok, my total already sums up to that. They then said no, but every person needs to order 1 dish OR they will charge us CHF 12 as a ‘cover charge’. I was disappointed as first they got the definition of cover charge wrong and second any restaurant needs to mention this at the start. When I expressed my disappointment, there was a drastic change in the tone of the manager who started demeaning us that why is paying CHF 12 such a big issue. Whether it’s 12 or 20 or 5, you can’t decide it’s worth for me. He wouldn’t shut up and later lectured me about how fine his restaurant is and how he’s travelled around the world to disrespect us even more. Eventually we left, I’m ok to pay 20 at a place where they serve nice, but not a snobbish manager who has been trained to justify their hidden charges by insulting customers, trying to make them feel we are beneath him so that we simply pay what they want. Nope it’s my money, I...
