Super comfortable ski-in/out hotel at the gondola station Furi! We spent 1 week there and we were super happy with the experience. 100% recommended to everyone.
The hospitality of the hotel is at the top level. Everyone is super friendly, and they always like to interact with you. If you have any problems or wish something, they will always happily find a way for you.
The hotel room was completely newly renovated and very comfy. We had a room facing to the east on the 1st floor and the view was awesome (though you don’t have a Matterhorn view because you are actually at the base of it!)
Hotel offers a great 3 or 4 course menu at night and the bar has a very good collection of liquors including some local spirits.
The wellness was also an awesome experience. There are 3 different kinds of sauna and cozy beds and sofas in the relaxing room. Even though it was during the corona time and the maximum amount of people using the sauna was restricted, we never waited for the sauna and the number of beds and sofas were more than enough to keep a distance.
The gondola to Furi station is one of the most reliable ones. It kept running even on a storming day when many other gondolas were not operating. It stopped running at 17:40 (in March) so we could always come back to the hotel safely. The ski-out is super easy and the ski-in is through a red slope which also isn‘t too steep. At the hotel you have your own ski shelf to conveniently store your equipments. Since the hotel is along the slope and not in the city of Zermatt, the surrounding is really quiet and calming.
Thanks again to the entire hotel crew for the...
Read moreJust returning from a week skiing in Zermatt, where my daughter and I stayed in the Hotel Silvana. We are most of our meals there and stayed 6 nights. Firstly, it’s great if you are skiing, it is truly ski in, ski out, right on piste 51/52, an easy red run. (If you are a beginner, don’t ski this area, it is really only suitable for intermediate and above). The access is excellent, much better than Zermatt, you are a short ski down to a major intersection of lifts. The hotel is 3 stars but could easily be 4 or more given the quality of the food, service and ambiance. The spa area is wonderful, sauna, steam room, various weird showers, three relaxing rooms and an amazing relaxing pool, see pictures. They have a trained masseuse on site, who is excellent. We had three massages. The breakfast is a generous buffet, with cooked eggs to order and range of other foods. Dinner and lunch off a good sized menu. There are at least three other restaurants nearby for lunch or tons down the hill in Zermatt. A great feature is that if you want to visit town, they loan you a toboggan, you slide down the road and leave it in a designated place at the edge of town. Personally, I would stay here again just for that, my best ever ride on a sledge. The staff were really helpful and offered...
Read moreThis review is long overdue! We were there back in December 2019 and I cannot express enough what a beautiful and special place this is. I took my mom and husband to this hotel for one night (we all wish we had more time there) so we could explore around Zermatt, and they were very impressed by the hotel. The staff was so warm and friendly, the spa area was absolutely magnificent (we really admired the carpentry work) and the food was delicious. Above all, it is the warm hospitality that makes this place so special. We arrived while it was snowing and were given a ride up to the hotel with our bags and the staff helped us plan which lifts to take the next day for the best views. They also met us back down at the train in Zermatt with our bags so we didnt have to lug suitcases with us on lifts. I cannot explain enough how much we enjoyed our short stay due to the kindness of the owners and staff. I would love to go back one day. What a truly special...
