I tried to book two rooms directly on their website but didn't receive any email confirmation. So I dropped them a message on facebook messenger which they responded promptly.||||Both rooms on the fourth floor have great sea views. Our room, which is accessible from the third floor via a flight of staircase has a big balcony and lots of sun on the balcony. Our elderlies' room accessible via lift has water dispenser right beside the door. I consider both rooms to be spacious for the price I paid (non peak Sunday and Monday). Only complaint is that they only provide one access card per room. As I had to run errands (go laundry and go my mom's room), I had to trouble my cousin to come down the stairs to open the door for me every time I return. Plus the room's access card control is upstairs (and not beside the door). We had to go back up a few times to take the access card when we reached the door.||||Rooms were clean and slippers were provided. There were also sufficient clothes hangers and hooks. My mom and aunt didn't encounter any difficulties in using the shower, the TV and aircon. They did had a hard time opening and closing the balcony door but that's ok. No issue with throwing toilet paper into the waste basket as this is not the first Taiwan hotel we encountered with this request.||||There is a self-service 24-hour laundromat just a few steps from the hotel. Laundromat has four washing machines and two dryers. But you have to buy your own detergent from the shops in Kenting main street and bring your own laundry nets as many of the items on its vending machine were sold out. We didn't encounter other user when using the machines in the early morning.||||No breakfast provided but we can get breakfast easily (cheap and tasty) from Kenting main street. We had dinner at Kenting main street and found the food a bit salty. We asked and the hotel recommended us a diner about 200 meter from the hotel which was very good.||||The hotel also helped to arrange our transfer from Zuoying Station to the hotel and a day trip around Kenting. I thought it will be a normal sedan but a big van turned up. My aunt and mom had difficulty boarding the van on the first day but the driver turned up with a stepping stool...
Read moreNo bidet spray, hand soap, hair conditioner, shower cap, toothbrush, toothpaste etc. but there’s water dispenser on every level so saved us some money from buying bottled water. Overall it is still provide pretty comfortable stay & good base to be at for exploring Kenting & Hengchun. It’s easy to find this hotel. From Taoyuan airport we took Airport Express Train to Taoyuan HSR (High Speed Rail) station & took HSR to Zuoying THSR in Kaohsiung, then took Kenting Express Bus 9189 at bus stop #2 along the road outside of Zuoying THSR station (need to top up enough fare in your Easy Travel card at the station beforehand otherwise pay cash to bus driver). Alight at Kenting Police Substation bus stop (get ready to press the bell once you pass Kenting Arch otherwise driver won’t stop for you) & walk into small lane walk a short distance to the back door of Kenting Coast Resort. There’s a restaurant called Magic Kitchen for quick breakfast a very short walk to the right of hotel front door. We managed to book half day (4-hr) tour with the help hotel receptionist on both days, just tell the driver where you want to go for sighting/experience/food. We paid NTD 2200 for each half-day tour. We actually checked out early in the morning on the last day & did a 4-hr tour of Hengchun old town with our luggages in the car & get dropped off at Hengchun interchange bus station to catch Kenting Express Bus back to Zuoying THSR. But we discovered actually you can deposit luggages at the Hengchun interchange bus station for a fee then walk around Hengchun old town yourselves without worrying about lugging luggages...
Read moreI chose this hotel partly because it is only a 3-minute walk to the Kenting main street and partly because the photos of the hotel on its website looked very creative. Although the English translation of the Chinese name of this accommodation reads 'resort', it is more like a small hotel or lodge.||||The hotel turned out to be as the photos on the website depict, but a tad older due to the passage of time. The lady owner was very friendly and responsive on email, she was able to communicate in English as well as Chinese. The lady owner also helped to arrange for transport from Kaohsiung on a shared 7-seater vehicle at a reasonable rate although the journey took a little longer than expected due to the number of stops the driver made for different passengers. ||||However, we did not see the lady owner on the first two days of our stay and the reception manned by very young staff was rather cold and unwelcoming. ||||The design of the room and bathtub were great, but the mattress and towels were rather thin. The owner obviously took great care in designing the details from the shell-covered bed post to the colourful tiles in the bathroom and chairs in the balcony. The view of the sea from the balcony and short walk to the beach was lovely too. ||||One minor downside is that the hotel does not serve breakfast, however, there are small eateries nearby at Kenting main street so you won't go hungry.||||The upsides are the location of the hotel and ability of the owner to email in English. Apart from these, there may not be much differences with other small...
