HOTEL BEGINS 倉箱蜜境文旅 — Hotel in Keelung

3 Deluxe Original Rooms + 1 Standard Original Room on a 2 Days 1 Night Stay with Breakfast and Dinner.

Thanks to the elder of the house, we finally made a visit to Hotel Begins to celebrate his 70th birthday (a surprise party, too).

The whole ordeal was a success, starting from the smooth booking process all the way to the patient, helpful staff throughout our stay. They even modified their birthday deco to our needs for the surprise.

The rooms were clean to a T, furnished with simple but effective, tasteful interior design. Adding how spacious in both the room and the bathtub, it really put you in that relax, vacation mood that all of us city Joes needed so bad. The hotel’s efforts to not used bottled water got a big ups from us as well, the dispenser installed on each floor even has sparkling water as an option!

The birthday feast was supposed to be had at a popular local joint, but after seeing the menu of the Rain Dance Restaurant, the party decided to stay in. The highlights were the seafood and the seasonal seafood hotpot with tomato broth. For breakfast, the seafood congee and the Italian frittata (enjoy it while it’s hot) were voted best among us.

There are, of course, rooms for improvement (no pun-intended), such as: Needing to go through check-in before you can enter the parking lot (traffic flow). Or that the staff at the reception couldn’t answer questions about their restaurant in its off hours (had to call in again when they’re in).

But overall all 7 of us enjoyed our stay, and will definitely come back...

Horror!!!! The worst hotel in the history of Taiwan. You should totally avoid here if you are on holiday!! The receptionist act like a bully and try to scam you into paying extra $$$$. Horrible and aggressively rude front office staff. When I was there, I saw the front office guy shouted at a hotel guest. It’s absurd, full of rubbish and childish behaviour from the management. New and modern hotel with good location outside the city center (although you will still have to go through some busy streets to get there). Getting there by car is also my only complaint: You need to stop somewhere on the street close to the entrance, then someone needs to go in to get the keycard for the parking. From there you then have to take stairs (with your luggage and all) to get back to the hotel. Not ideal.
