Chaojing Park — Attraction in Keelung

Sometimes we just need to get away from the noise of car horns, the cement, the businesses, the overall frenzy of the city.

So, a few steps from Keelung, no more than 20 minutes by bus to be exact, here we are in the oasis of Badouzi, at Chaojing Park. A simple green lawn...along the sea! Simply fantastic. You can take a stroll along the grass, breathe in the pure sea air, and maybe lie down on the green. Maybe not by yourself, though, because this is definitely a great place for couples. We only do what we can, and if you come here alone (like me), you can still get a wonderful experience and a sense of ease.

Actually, at this moment I am writing this article in the shade of an umbrella on the terrace of one of the bars in front of a Badouzi promenade. From here, I can clearly see the nearby village of Jiufen down there on the hill, a pink sunset, accompanied by the voice of Shirley Bassey and an iced coffee. You are still at home?

Avolte abbiamo solo bisogno di scappare dai rumori dei clacson, dal grigiore del cemento, dalla frenesia delle citta'. Keelung, nonostante le dimensioni ridotte rispetto a Taipei, e' anch'essa una cittadina molto trafficata e movimentata, e dopo un mese, anche una cittadina romana come me che ha vissuto per tre anni in una megalopoli come Pechino ha bisogno di evadere. Detto fatto, a due passi da Keelung, a non piu' di 20 minuti di autobus, eccovi nell'oasi di Badouzi, esattamente nel parco di Chaojing. Un semplice prato verde...sul mare! semplicemente f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c -o!

Vi fate una passeggiata lungo il prato, respitare pura aria di mare, magari vi sdraiate sul prato...magari non da soli...eh si, decisamente un posto per coppie. Ma vabbe', si fa quel che si puo', e se non siete accoppiati o non avete qualche amico con cui condividere questo posto magnifico, vi troverete a vostro agio anche da soli, come la sottoscritta, che in questo preciso momento sta scrivendo questo articolo all'ombra di un ombrellone sulla terrazza di uno dei bar davanti il lungo mare di Badouzi, dal quale posso vedere chiaramente il vicino villaggio di Jiufen proprio li' sulla collina, in rosa tramonto, accompagnata dalla voce di Shirley Bassey e da un caffe' ghiacciato. Ancora siete a casa?
