Foung Kou HOTEL — Hotel in Magong City

The best part was the staff. They were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. They provided the best services we have ever had in Taiwannaa foreigners. We lived in Taiwan for more than 6 years, and by far this was the best in terms of service and facilities. Free breakfast Free shuttle service from and to the airport. And helping in renting a motorcycle.

I don't have any more words to describe how satisfied we are with this hotel and the staff.

Oh and the location is quite good to be honest.

So basically....No complaints!

For those who assume the staff speak English, they actually can but it's limited. Google translate is your best friend here. And with that, the staff will go out of their way to help and accommodate you. So you better be patient and cooperate. 😊

Foung Kuo Hotel shows its age but the room is clean and provides the basics. The air conditioner is a bit loud and runs a bit too cold. The hotel breakfast buffet is Chinese-oriented with rice porridge, fish and bean cakes among the items on offer. The staff speak very minimal English but they are very helpful. I managed to get restaurant recommendations and tour advice from the desk staff despite the language barrier, and the cleaners also brought down some items I forgot after checking out. This is my first time in Penghu, and I'm glad (and lucky) to have stayed affordably at Foung Kou Hotel.

The hotel is located near to all the public transport terminals available: ferry pier (15-20 minutes walk), airport (20 minutes bus ride) and bus terminal (20 minutes walk).

There are also eateries and convenience stores nearby (5-10 minutes walk).

As the bus terminal is near, you'd also have the option of exploring the other regions of Penghu (as long as they are not off-island), like 西嶼、湖西、白沙、風櫃 and 外垵.

The hotel also provides reasonable breakfast.

If there is any downside to this stay, I think the soundproofing needs some improvement, and also the hotel may want to review its early check-out...
