It's a very basic and traditional local hotspring 汤屋。 Not upgraded for years. Could be Due to Covid and avoidance of insects fest; they had provided mainly water and DIY green tea bags & instant granules coffee drinks. The food stall only sells instant cup noodle and nothing else (not even nuts nor chips) The room is spacious, DIY hot and cold tubs need a little time to fill and adjustments according own preferences. Water with very little sulfuric smell, very little feel of glaze on body too. Some what wondering the authenticity of the water source...🤔
Came with a quick soak in mind, had booked a 2 hours slot in a family room. Refer to pictures for the sizes and layout. Got myself a packet of 科学面, a cup of coffee, a bottle of 冷泡茶;in the tub and watch a quick review Korean show 焦急浪漫史 on my phone's YouTube. As the linger from showing in the Television which is far right in the main room.

Simple and comfortable for the local, basic & traditional hotspring of...

The Wi-Fi didn't work ("Problem with the system"), and the breakfast buffet (included in the room price - I'd have preferred to spend less on the room, and buy my breakfast outside somewhere that I could choose the meal) was almost terrible... Most courses were cold, the variety was more like dinner foods than breakfast foods, no cereals, one choice of white bread, and vegetable courses that all tasted the same. Even the congee was watery like soup instead of porridge (you'd think the kitchen could get that right, at least?). Oh well, the bed and linens were comfortable for a good night's...
Read moreOnly 1:20 hours away from Taichung we spent 2 hours and 400NTD each for my wife and me at a nicely done outdoor hot spring, part of the Four Season hotel in Guguan. Staff was friendly and even spoke a little English explaining and showing us the many little baths and pools spread over three levels.||||As of this writing the hotel underwent some constructions, but the noise was bearable and didn't interrupt the experience too much. The surroundings of the hotel very pretty stunning with valleys, forests and seeing a clear blue sky, a stark difference to the hazy days of Taichung, made this afternoon almost perfect. ||||We'll be...
