This is a very good hotel in Taoyuan City. The accommodations were clean, and staff were attentive. Cleaning staff were quite friendly and accommodating, keeping watch that they tend to your room when you are out. And front desk staff always greeted us with a smile and a bow upon entering the lobby. They were always attentive at answering questions.||The buffet breakfasts were adequate. ||There are two public computer terminals in the lobby for use, although one was usually out of order. ||Although there is wi-fi, the connection was spotty in our hotel room. Our floor had a sofa/rest area by the elevator....the connection was usually better in that area, so that is where we did much of our e-mailing with the iPad. ||There was also laundry facilities in the hallway, right by the elevator and sofa area. There was no extra charge for this, although I believe you need to get your own detergent. That is a major bonus. ||The elevator ride up and down is always entertaining, as it gives spectacular views of the city at the corner of the hotel. ||The biggest drawback is the location of the hotel in relation to downtown Taipei. As I recall, it took about 45 minutes by commuter train....faster if you manage to get an express train (maybe 30 minutes). But in addition to this, it's at least a 15-minute walk from the hotel to the train station, plus the wait time for the train arrival. And I never got a seat on this train. Oh yeah, and it was confusing trying to catch the same train back from Taipei Main station. ||Don't forget to have the address and map of the hotel, in Taiwanese, ready for your cab driver at the airport. You WILL need this. ||And once at the hotel, grab a hotel business card or two for your wallet/purse. This will come in handy for future cab rides, or if you get lost, as I found it was easy to do in Taoyuan City. ||Please see my attached photos...
Read moreStayed here for two weeks. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are a great size! Staff are super friendly. Many don't speak English but will still try to help you. A staff member was wondering if I was waiting for a taxi... we couldn't communicate due to a language barrier, so he went out of the hotel to grab someone to come and translate! This is an example of the hospitality. Breakfast staff are very nice as well. Breakfast has a huge selection but you need to be comfortable with not having western food choices. My room had trouble getting hot water for showers but when you're in taiwan in the summer you are dying for a cold shower anyway. Great stay and great sleeps...
