The hotel is oddly located within a multi purpose building, so the entrance is somewhat hidden. Enter from diagonally across Tonlin Plaza, there's a small street with little food stalls, then turn left at the first instance you are able to and you'll see the lift. The hotel reception is on 6th floor. It seems they have just 2 levels of rooms on 6 & 7th floor. The hotel check-in is at 4pm and they enforce it quite strictly even when I arrived close to 3pm. I also don't like that they enforce a 11am check-out time, with a NT150/hr charge if you wish to extend beyond it. The room is rather small, OK for 1 but too tight for 2 persons, there's only enough space to walk around the beds. The beds are queen sized, firm and comfy. There's a luggage rack but hardly enough space for a 28 inch luggage to be placed on it without hitting one side of the bed. The only window is by the bathroom which faces the building opposite. Bathroom area is small but sufficient, with all amenities provided. Room looks fairly new and clean, I like that the powerpoint sockets are the new multi-purpose kind that fits all plugs without an adapter.
The open wardrobe concept is good though I wished they can be more generous with the hangars. I do like that it's a fully non-smoking hotel and that there's a water dispenser in the lobby that dispense hot water too.
Sound proofing isn't too good though, I can hear people walking and talking in the corridor and whenever my neighbour opens their doors it sounds as if someone is trying to open mine.
Location wise, it's a short walking distance to the Taoyuan train station (note however that it's the local train and not high-speed rail station). There are many food options around the area...

Read moreCity Suites Taoyuan Station, while catering to a budget-conscious traveler, comes with both pros and cons. The hotel's entrance is somewhat discreet, requiring a walk through an alley to an inconspicuous lift leading to the lobby on Level 6. With only two floors of rooms on Levels 6 and 7, it provides an intimate setting. However, the lack of windows in the rooms, coupled with a confined space featuring only a queen bed, two hangers, and a luggage rack without room to open luggage, can feel restrictive.||Enforcing a strict check-in at 4 pm and check-out at 11 am, the hotel emphasizes punctuality. The location, approximately 50 minutes from the airport by bus, may be a drawback for those seeking proximity. The room amenities are basic, with provided soap and standard supplies, though the quality of the toilet facilities is average.||On a brighter note, the surrounding area offers conveniences and diversions. Local street food options abound, and a one-minute walk takes you to McDonald's, with a variety of shops like Nike, Daiso, and Watson's in close proximity. Convenience stores, including 7-Eleven and Family Mart, dot the area. Additionally, a cinema nearby adds entertainment options, though English subtitles might not be guaranteed. In summary, City Suites Taoyuan Station serves its purpose for those on a tight budget, offering a no-frills stay in a bustling...
