Our stay at the first point hostel was great. We spent a couple of days here at this pretty hostel, with breathtaking wallpaintings that give off an authentic tanzanian vibe and a relaxed backyard in which you can lay in the grass and enjoy the sun and views over the hills. The owner, Johnson, was friendly and particularly knowledgeable on which are the best companies and prices for daytrips or safari-/mountain climbing tours. Moreover, the room price was great value for money. The only negative thing that I could say about First Point is that the hostel is located a bit from the city centre. Read moreOverall ok, clean, budget friendly but not the best experience. Ana was very welcoming and attentive but the owner seemed deeply uninterested in us. The wifi was only working when he was on his laptop, and every time we asked about wifi, they said they would check but nothing ever changed. Other employee said there is no wifi - so make sure you have some data on your phone if you wanna stay here.
It was hard for the bajaj/boda to find the way there, providing a description (in Swahili) or reference point would be helpful. I also would not feel comfortable to walk in the area...
