The Beer Garden — Restaurant in Arusha

We went yesterday with my husband for lunch . The restaurant is really nice , with a very nice garden and view to Meru , we were excited to try this place.

We were the only one seated. We ordered a chicken Schnitzel, a beef samosa and chicken nuggets. After ordering , we were told ( after 10 min ) that they don’t have nuggets (great communication between the kitchen and the waitress) . After 30 min, we receive the food .. the samosas were ok .. nothing really to be excited about . When it comes to the Chicken Schnitzel and fries , it’s another story .. the fries were still raw , all soggy drowned in oil so we asked them to take the fries back and cook them again .. then we tried the chicken .. it was as terrible , the breadcrumbs didn’t cook properly, also soggy .. and you know that you will still have to pay 24000 shillings for something that you will not eat. We addressed our disappointment to the waitress ( it was not her fault obviously ) , she felt bad and told us that the cook was upset that we gave back the fries and told her to cook herself if the clients are not happy.. what? , we told her to call the chef out , she didn’t seem to care and didn’t even offer to make the order new knowing that we were the ONLY clients and it would not be that hard to make fries and a chicken schnitzel, I mean it doesn’t require special talent or to be a Gordon Ramsey to make such basic dishes... We paid of course , and we bumped into the manager ? We explained the situation, he didn’t seem very concerned, we paid , it was the most important thing so who cares!

I’ve been to many places here in Arusha , yes you have average places sometimes like everywhere in the world but I must give this place the the Worst Food Award , at least you are number one in something .. Now I understand why this place was empty .. no wonder why .. Pole Sana to the owners and to this restaurant, I’ve never written something as terrible as this but we were so disappointed and chocked by the quality, if it was possible I wouldn’t even give you a star ..

Horrible service, we called very late asking for a room Drove almost 2 hours while the staff confirmed there is availability only to reach and be told there is NO after a 30 minute wait, in addition to that there was locals who were hassling us for money while the guard just stood and watched.

It was such a disappointment after many recommendations.
