Wiyolis HongKong Hote — Hotel in Dar es-Salaam

Stayed there for a couple nights that we were in Dar Es Salaam while travelling around Tanzania. The hotel itself is fine, but there are some things that were really annoying and I'd look for a different place if I was to go to Dar for the next time.||||The hotel itself is clean and the stuff is friendly. The rooms are fine, with a great view on the city, the beds are comfortable. The problem starts with the bathroom. You can tell that the towels are clean (and they were changed daily) but they're pretty old which shows. The water pressure is near nonexistent and water rather drips than flows in the shower. And it's barely lukewarm.||||It's located next to Kariakoo market so it gets really busy and noisy in the nearest area. You can safely walk to the centre in around 45 minutes and there are taxis parked right next to it so that's a plus. Every morning at 5.20 am there's a prayer on the speakers from the nearby mosque and you'll either need some blockers or you'll get woken up every morning.||||The restaurant is okay when it comes to lunch/dinner but the greasy asian food is something I definitely hated when it came...

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. they overbooked the hotel and tried to upcharge us for a 'deluxe' room with only 1 bed (for 3 people). Told me to sleep on the floor but refused to provide even sheets or bedding for the couch cushions I was forced to use. Spoke badly about us in Swahili to our faces assuming we didn't understand. The door didn't lock and we were told to just stay in the room despite the fact that we had already been harassed by male guests. When we tried to get a tuktuk to get food, the woman from reception was outside and demanded our driver to tell her where we were going which was a huge invasion of privacy. I have never experienced such an awfully run establishment nor such apathetic and (in many cases) rude staff. DO NOT STAY HERE. Area is also extremely loud at all hours and even 8 floors up it sounds as if you are on street level...

The receptionist had NO customer care at all, they were moody and very resistant to respond to the guests requests. The rooms were not clean at all filled with cockroaches. The bathrooms were dirty the moment we checked in, we had to ask the receptionist to have them cleaned but were still dirty once we got back to the room hours later. The walls of the room were filled with fungus to the point the room had a strong musty odor. To top it all off the showers had no hot water, once asked the receptionist said " hot water is always there". The hotel phone number that is on the page and in the rooms they just for show because...
