we had a lovely time after our kilimanjaro trek relaxing at Kiwavi home! it’s a beautiful oasis and very well set up. kitchen facilities are awesome and Joy and Simba are so helpful and very friendly. the proceeds of your stay also go to a local NGO run by Joy, which makes the rate very reasonable. the included breakfast every morning was a highlight and all homemade (using good quality crockery). wifi was very strong and rooms were clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. the hot water wasn’t working for us, which was a shame particularly after getting back from our trek but they helped us by letting us use another shower with warmer water. it was also out of the town centre meaning it was much quieter but also meant you needed to get transport in. would definitely recommend this homestay to...

Kiwavi Home is one of the best places I’ve stayed in East Africa. The breakfast prepared by Jackie — the happiest, nicest person I’ve met in Tanzania! — in the mornings is gourmet! We spent an unforgettable time at Kiwavi home. Simba is the most welcoming host and a great person in general. We made chapati with Jacky and everyone went out of their way to make it the most memorable stay. Not only is the house beautiful with pretty rooms and a spacious and cozy outdoor area, it is especially the staff with their warmheartedness, humor and eye for detail that made our stay amazing. I was sick and they even brought me medicine, we were looking for a tailor and Jacky just went into the village and got our dresses tailored without charging us any money.
