Monkey Mountain lodge — Hotel in Unguja

I have been to many accommodations in Zanzibar, but this one was truly the most special experience for me. The peace and positive vibes I experienced there brought back 5 years of my life. The house is in a wonderful location, surrounded by dense vegetation, so you will feel a healing peace there during your entire stay. The bungalows are spacious and perfectly clean, the beds are large and comfortable, the view is stunning. The food deserves a Michelin star, the offer is varied, the ingredients are fresh every day, the portions are very generous, certainly above the price. The owner and all the staff are very accommodating, kind and ready to dedicate themselves to each guest to make them feel at home. My special thanks go to the hostess Suzy , whose helpfulness and kindness go beyond the limit and who made our stay even more beautiful. One-in-a-lifetime experience, both Monkey Mountain Lodge and Mtende beach. I planned to spend one night in Mtende to see the beach and baobabs. As soon as I arrived, I realised I didn’t want to leave this place at all, so we stayed all 3 nights before our departure to Safari. The hotel is an absolutely unique architectural masterpiece, the only one located on a hill surrounded by bush in Zanzibar. Breathtaking views, absolute privacy, you won’t see your neighbors, you won’t be approached by beach boys, you can finally relax, unwind, and experience an untouched area of our planet. The French owner will take care of all your needs. Service 10/10, location 10/10, food 10/10 (we regret eating in other restaurants in the area, only here the food was tasty), cleanliness 10/10. Our stay at this hotel was magical like a dream come true. Every moment felt perfect, and it was the ultimate escape from everyday life. The staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive, making us feel genuinely valued throughout our stay. The rooms were breathtaking, like a 5-star treehouse that felt like something from a childhood fantasy. We were even fortunate enough to witness monkeys playing outside our room at 6 am, which was a delightful surprise. The food was delicious and offered excellent value for money, easily the best in Mtende. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we decided to extend our stay by two more nights.
