I came here with a group of college friends as part of our spring break. Right away at the airport we were greeted by the Ali, who helped with our bags and brought us directly to Mvuvi Boutique Resort. The staff at the resort were very kind to organize trips around the island for us, which truly were fantastic. Grace was always very accurate and also personalized some of the excursions to match our exact wishes. When we did not have a day-trip around Zanzibar, we spent hours enjoying the many amenities of the resort, especially the pool which was just a few steps away from our room. One of the things we looked forward to everyday was the food at Mvuvi. We booked the Half-Board package which allowed us to have a large breakfast right by the beach on the deck before our day-time excursions. Dinner at the resort was truly a culinary experience of its own. The large variety of dishes offered and their amazing taste really made this one of our most memorable aspects of our stay.
Of course the beach of the resort was absolutely spectacular and observing how the movement of the tides changed the whole scene was really amazing. Some of us also decided to take a kite—surfing course at the Duotone-Pro Center. Since the water near the shore is fairly shallow and there usually being good wind, it was a great spot to start learning how to kite!
Once we got back from the beach the outside shower of the resort was very convenient to get the sand off the feet and body too we would not fill the room with it. The rooms themselves were comfortable and authentically decorated. They include a well working air-conditioner and ventilator as well as nets for each bed individually, which you will be very thankful for after a long day trip on the island. The shower and bathroom were spacious and well equipped.
Staying at Mvuvi boutique resort has allowed us to fully lay-back and relax throughout our entire vacation. Overall, we had a great relaxing vacation that was facilitate by the continuously helpful and kind staff at Mvuvi. As someone who has been to Zanzibar before, I highly recommend this place as it is located right at the heart of beautiful...
Read moreWe can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at Mvuvi. What a beautiful, peaceful, small, welcoming, family-run boutique hotel.|This place truly stands out and exceeded all our expectations.||From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. The whole staff is exceptionally kind, helpful, friendly and professional. The attention to detail in the decoration and atmosphere is remarkable — everything is thoughtfully designed and beautifully maintained.||We had a sea view room which was spotless, spacious, comfortable, and well-cleaned every day. The mattress was very comfortable, and we loved being barefoot in the sand at all times, even in the restaurant!||The hotel is very quiet and peaceful — exactly what we were looking for. The surroundings are simply stunning: white sand, flowering hibiscus bushes and a private beach that’s cleaned every day. Also: no sea urchins!||We especially appreciated having access to both the Beachlounge and the main Mvuvi Resort just 100 meters apart — we like space and variety, and we were spoiled!||Breakfast was fantastic every morning. We didn’t mind the waiting time — “pole pole”, like everywhere in Zanzibar.||We stayed 14 nights with our two teenagers (15 and 17) and they loved it too. They were never bored thanks to kitesurfing, slackline, a small outdoor gym, yoga, beach runs, evening soccer games... so many great experiences!||The young men at the kite center were very reactive, helpful and professional — they handled everything perfectly, even in tricky situations.||The only small downside for us was the very loud music from the nearby KBB bar (on Wednesdays) when they host their weekly pre-party, which then continues on the ponton (“Il Pontile”) from 10 pm. It unfortunately disturbed our sleep on two nights (out of 14). But the rest of the time the resort was truly peaceful and quiet — exactly what we were looking for||We absolutely loved this place — and if we ever come back to Zanzibar, there's no doubt we'll return to Mvuvi.||Unforgettable experience. If you’re considering Kiwengwa, go there — you...
