Pingwe Beach Apartments — Hotel in Unguja

We absolutely loved our week long stay at Pingwe Beach Apartments!! Our apartment was very spacious with 2 bedrooms, a huge balcony with dining area and lounge area, a kitchen with everything needed for cooking, and full bathroom with hot shower! The apartment was perfectly clean and to our surprise there was daily housekeeping which we really appreciated. It was so nice to come home each day to our spotless apartment after a day at the beach. The pool was always clean and the depth of about 1.5M was perfect for our pool workouts and volleyball games. Wonderful sea view from the balcony and a quick 5 minute walk to a beautiful sandy beach. We really enjoyed the location being part of the community and not too touristy. There is a football pitch nearby and it was so much fun to watch the kids and cheer them on in the morning. If you're a skilled player you might be able to get in on the action! There are also grocery stores and many restaurants within walking distance, including "The Rock" which is a famous restaurant in the ocean that you take a boat ride to at high tide. We had a romantic and delicious dinner there and had an engaging conversation with the Italian manager. The entire staff at Pingwe Beach Apartments was so helpful and accommodating with any request (including our dinner reservation), and the host, Elena, was incredibly gracious, kind, and responsive even though she was on holiday herself! We wish we could have met her, and we hope to meet her on our next trip to Zanzibar. The apartments are spacious and perfect for groups or families, but also wonderfully romantic for couples thanks to the stunning views. The staff is discreet yet always present and ready to help with anything you need. The garden is beautifully maintained—it’s so lovely that you’ll almost feel sad not to have one just like it at home.

There’s a great pool for those who prefer not to go to the beach, which is just a two-minute walk from the apartment anyway. Elena, the manager, is an absolute gem—sweet, professional, and always attentive to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The apartments are located in Michamvi village, which offers plenty of conveniences such as local and European restaurants, cafés where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and relaxing spots to spend the day. (P.S. The apartments have a kitchen! If you’d like to cook, ask Elena—she’ll tell you how to get groceries. They even provide a super handy list of fresh and cooked items, and there are small shops nearby for fruit and vegetables.)

Ho trascorso di recente una settimana presso la struttura e non poteva andarmi meglio. L'appartamento é essenziale e fornito di tutto il necessario per cucinare. Lenzuola e asciugamani di ottima qualità. Le stanze sono pulitissime e dotate di condizionatore e ventole che consentono di affrontare il caldo. La struttura é a due passi dalla spiaggia ma nel caso la piscina è pulitissima e perfetta per il relax. Il terrazzino è comodo e piacevolissimo. Ma il vero punto forte è l'accoglienza, gentilezza ed efficienza del personale. Ti fanno sentire subito a casa. Su tutti la signora Elena, persona meravigliosa, nata per far stare bene i suoi ospiti.
