Read moreTerrible Warning- Do not book here! Forfiet your money if you already paid. Should be closed during construction and possibly condemed. WE WERE BITTEN BaDLY BY BEDBugS! You arrive to the entire lobby fenced off with mesh and dust and the entire floor is gone. You walk over a bridge water feature to get to rooms but no water is in it. The water fountain going to restaurant is cracked with no water. The pool is merky and with the red light at night looks OMINOUS! There were muddy trenches dug all over the lawn. The day bed was filthy. They locked beach access because they said it is dangerous. The website implies there is beach access but the gates to the beach was locked for safety concerns. Those photos are NOT the beach at this resort probably stock photos. The water has local fisherman and looks very commercial and looks uninviting. The new owners from India would not answer their phone to speak with Expedia even though I was in the office with employees who told Him that Expedia was given his number and was calling him several times. So I had to take 3 calls while roaming. He said the website says we have construction. But the place was so filthy. Mold in exterior walls, merky pool, coverings on daybed were spotted and soiled and the fridge has mold on the rubber around the door. The manager, sales manager and staff were kind and tried to manage the unmanagable. Fareed did very well to comp our meal and the chef prepared a great dinner and came to the table to say hello. We asked for a ocean view but a largish tree was planned directly in front of the door and blocked the ocean view, smh. You cant make this stuff up! There is no walkabikity. Not touristy, fun or lively. You won't strike up a conversion with tourist at the bar or on the beach - not many people and not approachable. They seemed to allow paid access to the pool to Non-hotel patrons. If I could give 0 stars...
Read moreCame to see the hotel as my partner had previously been a customer many years ago . We asked the receptionist about swimming but that we didn’t wish to swim in this occasion but just have a drink . She Said that was fine so we proceeded to look and walk around the poo to see the sea and then to go to the bar when we were approached by a staff member who was quite hostile towards us even before we had a chance to explain we were not swimming or using the beds on this occasion and we had checked with the receptionist and she said it was ok to have a drink and look at the grounds. The male staff member was rude and lacked any customer service skills he made us feel like we had committed an offence when we were just walking and wanted to just pay our private respects to my partners late wife whose ashes were interred 15 years ago in the sea beyond this hotel that they both had frequented for many years. You can imagine how upsetting this was for us. He told us to go from the area . We went to the bar to get a drink and sit in the lounge to watch the sunset and have a moment. I decided to go to the receptionist and complain the way her colleague had spoken to us and that she failed to mention the policy of no go area. She apologised but as we were so upset I didn’t think just to pay the swimming charge which was only 20000 tsh for 2 persons that’s what I should have done in hindsight even though we did not want to swim ! but we were so shocked the way we were treated. We will never go back not even for a swim the pool did. not...
