Good points: We stayed in a ground floor room which was very clean, comfortable and decor felt brand new. The patio doors open out directly onto the 'outdoor' pool, which is 1.5m+ deep and about 10m long. Fast wifi. Close to Central Festival and 10 minute walk to 7-11 on the main Chiang Mai ring road.||||Bad points: Not all of the staff speak English so communicating a few things was frustrating - especially when late at night the staff started cleaning the floors with some extremely potent chemical which stank out the whole hotel including our room.||There was no safe in the room, despite this been advertised, and was a little worried about security as we found the patio door open one day after room had been cleaned.||Charged an additional 17% on top of listed menu price for room service. I'm happy to pay the charge but it should be listed up front.||It was kind of cool having a pool 2m from my bed, but on the other side of the pool is the al-fresco restaurant / breakfast area so not very private unless you have the curtains closed. Some noise from the restaurant in the morning too.||The bathroom is fine, but very little space between toilet and the wall making it a bit awkward - although made worse as I had a broken ankle...
Read moreOur stay there was a little disappointing. We booked a 4-star hotel to be sure it is clean. Our room was not clean (lots of hair, a dirty tissue, a pill on the floor). I mentioned that and ask about a wet cleaning of the floor because we had a crawling baby. The staff cleaned immediately but it was not clean. So we went to the reception again and asked again for a wet cleaning. After that the cleaning level was okay. But we had insect's in our room because window was open when we arrived (maybe since hours). Nevertheless the interior of the room is good and stylish and the pool area is nice. Gym room was closed for maintenance.
If you looking for breakfast I would recommend 'cafe jame' which is 3 min to walk from the hotel! It opens 8:00 am and serves really good...
Read moreMy husband and I live in Chiang Mai but we had a power cut at our house for 12 hours so we decided to check into a hotel. We stayed at AE Lana and loved it! They upgraded us to a superior room and discounted us the price because we weren't staying for breakfast. The room was very spacious, the bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was well designed and the shower was huge. There are black out curtains and the surrounding area is very quiet. It is not close to the city center but if you have a scooter, it would be a nice place to come back to after a day being busy. They also had a fitness room but we didn't use it. I would definitely...
