I recently had an incredibly special hotel experience that I just have to share with you. 'Proud Phu Fah Muang,' it was a true haven of healing for me, escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. No exaggeration, here are three stories explaining why I wholeheartedly recommend this place.||||An Oasis in My Chiang Mai Month-Long Stay, 'Proud Phu Fah Muang'||||During my month-long stay in Chiang Mai, I started to feel a bit weary of the busy city life. Even though it's not as hectic as Seoul, the constant traffic and noise were taking a toll on me. So, I set out to find a hotel that was a bit removed from the Old City, where I could truly relax in a forest setting. And that's how I discovered 'Proud Phu Fah Muang.'||||Upon arrival, I was greeted with welcome drinks and cookies, which immediately set a warm and inviting tone. The welcome cookies were so comforting and delicious that I had to ask where I could buy them. The welcome drink was also incredibly fresh, unlike anything I'd had in the markets, tasting purely natural. And the handwritten welcome card in Korean? It touched my heart. It had been so long since I received a handwritten note. These thoughtful touches made me realize how special 'Proud Phu Fah Muang' is.||||One, an Emotional Sanctuary Surrounded by Nature, a Perfect Healing Space||||As soon as I entered the room, I was amazed by the spaciousness. There was plenty of room to relax and unwind, no matter how many people were staying. The elephant-shaped towels on the bed were adorable, and I was impressed by the attention to detail. The air purifier was a huge plus, ensuring I could breathe fresh, clean air without worrying about Chiang Mai's air quality.||||With the increasing trend of eco-conscious travel, many hotels are focusing on sustainability. However, 'Proud Phu Fah Muang' stood out from the rest. The eco-friendly furniture and decor, along with the excellent vegan options, created a truly relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere. (Even though I'm not vegan, I thoroughly enjoyed the food!) I loved their commitment to sustainable beauty. Surrounded by lush greenery, I was pleasantly surprised that there were very few bugs.||||The beautiful scenery, with its lush trees and greenery, made for stunning photos. Escaping the hustle and bustle of the Old City and spending time in this peaceful natural setting was incredibly refreshing. The fresh air was so revitalizing, and I felt completely at ease. It was a much-needed break from the city, filled with tranquility and relaxation.||||The hotel pool was also impressive. The clean and well-maintained pool was like an oasis in the middle of nature. The clear water reminded me of a mountain stream. (There's also a real stream about 10 minutes away, which you can ask about at the front desk.) The surrounding trees and flowers added to the peaceful atmosphere. Swimming and relaxing by the pool was incredibly refreshing, and I even fell asleep while reading a book on the sun lounger. It was the perfect spot for some relaxation.||||I took some pictures of the amenities for reference. They replenish the coffee capsules daily, and they also refill the water. Their attentive service really impressed me.||||Two, a Romantic Evening in the Outdoor Bathtub, Unforgettable Memories||||You absolutely have to try the outdoor bathtub on the balcony! You know how expensive hotels are in Korea when they have a terrace tub, right? Almost like a Banyan Tree. It's completely private, with curtains to ensure you can enjoy it without being disturbed. A lot of hotels these days don't allow bubble baths, but 'Proud Phu Fah Muang' does! Soaking in the warm water and gazing at the stars with your loved one creates an unforgettable atmosphere.||||The tub is also spacious enough for three people, making it perfect for families with children. It's like having your own private spa! Soaking in the clean water and looking up at the sky and trees was incredibly relaxing.||||Three, Eco-Friendly Dining in a Natural Setting, Healthy and Delicious Happiness||||The breakfast here is truly exceptional. You can choose from a buffet or order from the menu, and everything is delicious. They use fresh, organic ingredients, so the food is not only healthy but also incredibly flavorful. Starting the day with such a satisfying meal was a great way to boost my energy.||||And the best part? There were no mosquitoes while dining outdoors, probably because it was the dry season. This level of pest control is rare in the city and was greatly appreciated.||||As you can see from the photos, the atmosphere is amazing, and the pictures turn out beautifully. I was a bit concerned about the breakfast based on some reviews I read, but honestly, it was the best breakfast I had during my stay in Chiang Mai!||||You can choose your meal and drink from the menu, and the rest is a buffet. My favorite was the homemade yogurt with granola, honey, and nuts. So delicious!||||One of my favorite menu items was the Proud Phu Fah Toast, a delicious combination of avocado, a soft-boiled egg, tomato, and cheese. Highly recommend it!||||'Proud Phu Fah Muang' Offers More Than Just Accommodation, It's an Extraordinary Experience||||'Proud Phu Fah Muang' is not just a place to stay; it's a place to experience true relaxation in nature, create unforgettable memories with loved ones, and nourish your body and soul with healthy and delicious food.||||Whether you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, relax in a natural setting, create romantic memories, or enjoy a family getaway, 'Proud Phu Fah Muang' is the perfect choice.||||If you're planning a trip to Chiang Mai, I highly recommend 'Proud Phu Fah Muang.' Read moreDuring my month-long stay in Chiang Mai, I sought refuge from the bustling city life and embarked on a journey to find tranquility in nature. 'Proud Phu Fah Muang' was the destination I discovered, a place that offered a truly exceptional experience beyond mere accommodation. The warm welcome, including welcome drinks, cookies, and a handwritten welcome card in Korean, set the tone for a delightful stay.
The spacious rooms were adorned with eco-friendly furniture and charming decor, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The air purifier ensured that I could breathe fresh, clean air without worrying about fine dust. The lush forest surrounding the hotel allowed me to fully immerse myself in nature without the annoyance of insects, and the verdant greenery provided a stunning backdrop for photos. The well-maintained pool was like an oasis in the middle of nature, and lounging on the sunbeds while reading a book was the epitome of relaxation.
One of 'Proud Phu Fah Muang's' standout features is the large bathtub on the room's balcony. Curtains provided complete privacy, creating a perfect space for a private spa experience. A bubble bath under the starry night sky was a truly unforgettable experience. The spacious bathtub, large enough for three people, is also ideal for families traveling with children.
Breakfast featured a variety of dishes made with fresh, organic ingredients. The semi-outdoor dining area provided a unique experience, reminiscent of a picnic in the forest. The homemade yogurt, with fresh fruits, granola, and honey, was exceptional, and the Proud Phu Fah Toast, with avocado, a soft-boiled egg, tomato, and cheese, is highly recommended.
'Proud Phu Fah Muang' is the perfect choice for travelers seeking a true escape in nature, couples looking to create romantic memories, and families looking to enjoy quality time together. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and experience genuine relaxation in nature, I highly recommend 'Proud...
Read moreI really wanted to love his hotel but there were 3 major issues that made this impossible for me.
Firstly, the design is wonderful and the location top notch - if you like nature and don't mind being a bit on the outskirts of the city this is a fantastic choice.
The staff is super kind and professional and I enjoyed my interactions with all of them at all times.
Now to the negatives.
Noise. The hotel was very, very noisy. Not just in public areas but also and especially inside my room. The sound proofing of the rooms is executed extremely poorly. During my 7night stay I was woken up by loud noises on at least 5 separate days. the children playing in the pool were so loud that I occasionally had to leave the hotel to enjoy reading a book or doing some light work in peace. This was very disappointing. Solution: Fix the sound proofing, instruct guests to be more quiet and then enforce it strictly or turn it into an adult only place. The noise does not match the overall aesthetic of the hotel which presents itself as a peaceful oasis built in a green space.
The curtains were basically fully transparent. Meaning at 6.30am the rooms are flooded with light. This is a problem when you come from a different timezone or are particularly sensitive to light. (Photo attached for reference) Solution: Switch the curtains with curtains that effectively block out sunlight.
The food in the restaurant was well below average compared to Chiang Mai's offerings. The drinks were great, coffee tasty, but hot dishes, even basic Thai cuisine was lacking majorly. This shouldn't be possible in a country where most people have a great sense for cooking and labour is so inexpensive.
All in all, a wonderfully and beautifully presented hotel executed with major drawbacks that seems to destroy its...
