We (2 people) stayed at Mae Yao Resort for 3 nights. The rooms are nice little Bamboo huts on a hillside. The equipment of said rooms is very basic, but sufficient. (There is no AC, only a Fan) ||The Host/Boss was very very kind and helpful. She organized food (cup noodles - so nothing special, but a very kind gesture after a turbulent way there) on the first night for us, as well as a Bike, delivered to the Hostel for a fair price. She also gave us a lot of tips on places of interest and offered to take care of anything that needs taking care of.||The Hostel also offers little crackers, coffee and tee. Breakfast consists of Toast with jam.|||We’ll only leave 4 stars because:|- Sadly the Bathroom and Bed were not super clean. |- The location is lacking nearby options to eat or shop for food (at least during rain season). Everything was already closed at around 4pm.|- The female Staff member was very helpful. When we asked her to call a Taxi to town for us she did so, but she said it cost 200 Baht. That is too much, but we agreed to pay the first time as I had to go to hospital and we couldn’t be bothered by the price. A day later we asked for the Taxi again, as it turns out she calls a private number, which we assume is because she is somehow related to the taxi driver. This disappointed us, as she was clearly not willing to offer the best service, as the Boss-Lady would...
Read moreI don’t know how to start, I am still here at the resort, just arrived today. Went here in Northern part of Thailand without any itinerary, since my first stop here is in Chiang Rai, I was supposed to book a hostel in the city area but I found this Resort online which offers a very peaceful area like away from a hustle bustle life in the city since I am staying in Phuket. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner/resort manager with a very welcoming approach, to make to the long story short, I got a private native hut villa which I really loved it.. the hut is well provided inside, it is well maintained and clean, no need for an air-conditioner since it is located on top and it is breezy up here. The resort itself has its own farm where you can find beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetable, even animals.. I really love here. The owners are very very helpful, did will do there very best just to make you feel very comftable and satisfied.. sure to be back here for my next trip here in chiang rai. Will definitely recommend...
Read moreIt is a hotel that definitely went beyond expectations.
Price: very value for money Comfort: everything is new! Even if you get the cheapest room, you still find it clean and comfortable. There are decos that make places, such as the public toilets at the restaurant, more than what they oughtta be. You can tell that the owner has really thought of every possible corner to make this place homey! Location: hidden at the end of a narrow road. Google map or GPS can help locate the place. Once you are there, you can enjoy the green landscape, quietness and peace in the resort or hop on their shuttle van to town/night market. The driver was polite and shy (kept saying his English is not good, while we can perfectly communicated with him) Food: we only had the inclusive breakfast there. Staff was super friendly, and kept coming to check if we need anything. Food variety is there that you know they've made effort. Western/Thai Japanese are available. The police who came to patron also dined there. Looks like a safe...
