If you think Chiang Rai is just temples and tea plantations, you’re missing out on its heartbeat. The Sunday Night Market isn’t just a market—it’s an experience. Streets transform into a labyrinth of color, scent, and sound. The smoky allure of grilled pork skewers mingles with the sweetness of mango sticky rice. Artists display their soul in every brushstroke, while live traditional music weaves a vibe you didn’t know you needed.

This isn’t a tourist trap—it’s where locals and travelers come together, sharing laughter over bowls of steaming khao soi or sipping on herbal teas that taste like Chiang Rai’s mountain air.

Pro tip: Grab a plate of sai ua (spicy northern sausage) and find a spot to watch the dancers. It’s the best seat in the house for a show you’ll remember long after the lights go out.

Would you dive into this sensory overload? Let’s hear your favorite night market finds below!

This is one of my new favorite places on earth!!! The food, the people, the atmosphere, and the experience were all just so lovely! We tried so many excellent things here. Fresh fruit and fruit juices, roasted meats and sausages, various sweet treats, some seriously delicious miang kham, and awesome snacks were just some of the things we got to enjoy here. I think we walked up and down this market at least 5 or 6 times to make sure we didn't miss a thing!! A must go if you happen to be in Chiang Rai...
