The boyfriend booked this for us to stay over the eve of Valentine's Day. He wanted somewhere beautiful and nice - and it sure was. Terrazzo is a remarkable gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle, in a quiet area. We were greeted by a spectacular sunset and mountainous view right from our room, an inviting sheltered pool right by the tall trees, cute garden swings, bean bags and colourful flowers on the garden terrace. ||||Service at this family-run resort was commendable. We had booked room with King Sized bed but were given two Single beds. The pleasant-looking Thai-Chinese lady who showed us to our room was apologetic and quick to rectify this issue, and even personally changed the bed for us. She was also kind enough to carefully support me up the two flights of stairs upon noticing my injured leg and bad limp. Really appreciated that sweet gesture. ||||Breakfast was provided at the charming traditional hut of a restaurant just next door. A limited but satisfying range of options is provided (tip: go for the Omelette Breakfast, it was delish), and you can enjoy a relaxing, rustic first meal as you gaze into the brightly-lit forested area ahead. ||||It might be advisable to rent a car or scooter because it doesn't seem that accessible to get out from the resort. It's somewhat hilly and tucked deep inside, away from the main roads. Also, it is highly recommended that you spray sufficient amount of insect repellent before getting out of the hotel room to spend time at the cute garden terrace or...
Read moreBefore booking this place, I read many reviews and was not sure about it. Yes, the pictures posted are completely far away from the reality. The place is in fact quite old and lacks of maintainance (only outside, inside the rooms are ok). However, because I will be away outside most of the time with my rental motobike, I decided to give it a go. I mean I stayed in worser place in coastal cities in Thailand before, what can be worst than this.
It turned out that it was not as bad as I thought. With this price and located in the Kathu district, which connects the city of Phuket and Patong Beach, i think it is worth the money.
While the building looks old and lacks of maintenance, the room I stayed is quite comfortable. Not as nice as the 5-star hotel of course but it was clean and contains all the things needed for solo traveller on the budget.
The small pool is in good condition although i did not try. The atmosphere is quiet and the view is great as the building sits on the hill behind a university. Even though you do not have a motobike, walking down to the main road to get a share ride should not be a problem.
I am sharing the realistic photos.
PS. If you have read other comments about the hotel charging you for water and electricity, that is probably because they stayed on "monthly rental basis". And it is quite common in Thailand if you rent the apartment/room on a monthly basis and you will be responsible for those utilities. I stayed as a hotel lodger for a few nights and everything...
Read moreI'll be back for sure when traveling to Phuket. Wasu was an outstanding host, answering literally dozens of questions before I arrived to be sure we were both going to know that I will enjoy my stay there. Ess, his main man was super attentive even in the midst of needing to nurse his first child who's just come into the world - CONGRATULATION Ess. Being able to cook was a bonus which saved a few dollars. I ate regularly also down at THUMS were I had one of the best chicken cordon blues, mash potatoes and veg that I've ever had. The gym was enough for me to get a decent weight session with the most spectacular view a gym has to offer and the pool was a godsend for cooling off afterwards. The cats are adorable. They'll love and purrrrr you to sleep. I made a few tip top friends from different parts of the globe with fascinating life stories. I'm disappointed in myself though for not taking up the offer from the friends next door who offered to cook for me. My apologies peeps, next time for sure. On my last day I was needing to get a few errands done and running out of time so Wasu drove me where I needed to go. I don't know what else to say except thank you, all the best and I'll see you again. ||||ps anyone concerned about the price of power/water, do not fear. I smashed the a/c,(as in used it a lot), and my total cost was only 1400 baht. Very reasonable at 100 baht a day. If you don't use the a/c its next to nothing but...
